I have been working at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay and benefits when you become full time are amazing.

    Cons

If you're a per diem you get crazy hours and are expected to work weekends.

    Advice to Management

Give full time postions to the employees that like working here.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice small hospital, overall everyone is nice, Salary competative with other union hospitals in CA.

    Cons

Don't get regular breaks per union rules. Small ICU, so if you are looking for experience, not the place to learn

    Advice to Management

Make provisions to provide each nurse with their allotted time for lunch and breaks per union rules by having relief available for breaks/ lunch. This also cuts down on cost due to nurses getting paid overtime for no lunch / no break per union rules, which would also save money for the hospital

Somewhat backward, has new building with less equipment, outdated

I worked at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

HHH does the best it can with limited resources. There are numerous clinics in the town that provide excellent care.
    People are friendly.

    Cons

Isolated; not much to do unless you drive an hour or so. Town of Hollister is nice place to raise kids though.
