I worked at Healogics full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Pay& benefits. Challenging wounds: a single patient may have up to 6 different wounds, of different etiology with multiple treatments required, that require cooperation, from in- house staff, to achieve healing. Met some great staff nurses in LTC.

    Cons

Week long “ training” on Wound Care , 30 minutes on computer program which is essential for success. Wasn’t given time to learn extensive documentation. When trainer was asked to review program, was told, “ you’ll get it”. Seeing 20 patients a day& never “got it”while under stress to complete charting. Fired after 4 weeks, despite healing difficult wounds , for charting errors.

    Advice to Management

When you hire qualified clinicians, during the week of training, allow realistic time to learn the charting, you generate income from . If each wound requires 5 pages of charting, teach that. I didn’t need all the lectures.

I have been working at Healogics full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great place to learn everything you need to know about wound care, a leader in their field without a doubt

    Cons

A lot of your satisfaction will also depend on the hospital partner since you will work out of a hospital site and must also live with the partner hospital's culture, good bad or indifferent.

    Advice to Management

Keep up you are doing to improve the company culture

I worked at Healogics full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good benefits; including healthcare and dental

    Cons

It’s surprising that after the false claims lawsuit, the culture hasn't changed. New employees are not welcomed, and female executives are quick to judge other colleagues. They openly portray deceitful behaviors towards them along with talking poorly about wound care physicians and program directors. One team that I worked with is cannibalizing each other based on three main players, all unprofessional women.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to how your leadership team treats others. If one of your programs isn't turning out revenue after almost a year, look at who's driving the train and who the two are closest to that person. If an employee leaves abruptly, something isn't working within the organization. Bullying, bad behavior and a closed-door policy should not be allowed by leadership. Clean it up and demand a work environment that promotes success for both current and new employees.

    Pros

Patients, wounds were actually healed. Hyperbarics works, with strong Wound Care program! You feel like you have really made a difference in patients lives

    Cons

Management would bring personal issues to work. PD would not fire incompetent staff. Pay could be better.

    Advice to Management

    Promote talent within company.

    I worked at Healogics full-time

    Pros

    - Chronic wounds are costly to the healthcare delivery system and misunderstood by providers and the government. - Healogics is the largest provider of chronic wound care services to hospitals in the country, with the largest repository of patient wound data in the industry. - Therefore, in theory, Healogics is in an exciting position to positively impact the policies that govern and the standards that guide the treatment of one of today's most pervasive and underappreciated healthcare challenges.

    Cons

    - No clear strategic business plan, senior leadership withholding of information and failure to adequately communicate long-term goals and objectives. - Executive bullying and fear-based management promote a toxic culture that makes retention of talented employees nearly impossible. - No emphasis on helping employees meet long-term career goals, lack of learning opportunities, failure to promote mentorship and cross-functional teamwork.

    Advice to Management

Bullying is the use of intimidation, humiliation, fear and threats. It shouldn't be confused with directness, assertiveness or conflict resolution. The continued toleration of executive bullying is doing long-term damage to Healogics culture, team morale, productivity and bottom line. It's time for Healogics senior leadership team to prioritize and invest in a positive, employee growth-focused culture by routing out executive bullies and rejecting destructive management practices.

I have been working at Healogics full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good Work/Life Balance, Are best in Wound Care category.

    Cons

Do not offer correct type of support if it is lacking in your center especially on the Clinical side. Salaries are below what a departmental manager with Hospital would make and should adjusted as the level of responsibility is greater as you are responsible for meeting the budgets and everything else for both Healogics and Hospital partner.

    Advice to Management

You should value your Cinical Leadership the same way you do your Program Directors. If a center is absent a CNM there needs to be an Area one in their place so the PD can do their job to the best of their ability and meet all their requirements. You are missing the boat BIG TIME!!
