I worked at Health Advocates full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The in depth training that the company gave was very unique and showed dedication not only to the staff but also the dedication to the company.

    Cons

The manager that I was working for wasn't that great in letting us take our breaks. That really is the only complain I could give.

    Pros

Depending on your department, you can end up staying at HA for a long time if your heart so desires.

    Cons

HR dept carries a big stick mentality for which it does apply the same principles for everyone. Micromanaging occurs in some circles.

    Advice to Management

Should implement more checks and balances for the HR dept who seemingly act unobstructed at times. Filter out the managers who like to act like the Gestapo.

I worked at Health Advocates full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Meet good people; short Friday work schedule, medical and dental plans; work stays at work; learn USA government laws about social security and disability

    Cons

Micro-managed (even trips to the bathroom); no real advancement opportunities; no wage increase; emotional and mental stress from cases; large caseloads upwards of 150 to manage; at times, necessary to do over 1500 calls within 1-2 weeks, or asap after receiving referrals; weak leads and referrals

    Advice to Management

Learn to trust your employees to do their work so they don't feel oppressed. Give meaningful wage increases and bonuses.

I worked at Health Advocates full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I actually considered my time they're a great experience. I was granted an opportunity for employment and ecstatic that I took advantage of it. I thought the attorneys were very knowledgeable, and shared that knowledge to ensure that everyone was aware of the clients needs and each person's role in that goal.

    Cons

I would say that the only thing I would suggest is that each department be aware of the duties and responsibilities of other departments. It's definitely a process from speaking with clients, to gathering the necessary information.

    Advice to Management

I loved the management team. They care about their staff and are understanding

I am very proud to tell people that i work for Health Advocates when they ask what i do for a living.

    Pros

We get out early on Fridays. We have four day weekends if Monday or Friday is a holiday. They provide coffee.

    Cons

There is no communication or room for growth. The job is extremely boring. They do not pay you enough. Management is absurdly strict.

    Advice to Management

    Stop being tyrants.
