I worked at Health Advocates full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Meet good people; short Friday work schedule, medical and dental plans; work stays at work; learn USA government laws about social security and disability

    Cons

Micro-managed (even trips to the bathroom); no real advancement opportunities; no wage increase; emotional and mental stress from cases; large caseloads upwards of 150 to manage; at times, necessary to do over 1500 calls within 1-2 weeks, or asap after receiving referrals; weak leads and referrals

    Advice to Management

Learn to trust your employees to do their work so they don't feel oppressed. Give meaningful wage increases and bonuses.

I worked at Health Advocates full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I actually considered my time they're a great experience. I was granted an opportunity for employment and ecstatic that I took advantage of it. I thought the attorneys were very knowledgeable, and shared that knowledge to ensure that everyone was aware of the clients needs and each person's role in that goal.

    Cons

I would say that the only thing I would suggest is that each department be aware of the duties and responsibilities of other departments. It's definitely a process from speaking with clients, to gathering the necessary information.

    Advice to Management

I loved the management team. They care about their staff and are understanding

I have been working at Health Advocates full-time

    Pros

I have happily settled for the rest of my professional career with HA. They are stable, healthy and will be a staple in the healthcare industry forever. I have a full time position, with an excellent benefits package such as Medical, dental, 2-3 weeks vacation, hella paid sick days, we get out at 12:30 every Friday, there are company lunches & holiday parties and annual bonuses. They do annual COLA increases and pay is competitive for the industry. I am in the main office in Chatsworth, its a big building and I really enjoy the people I work with. Its a basic 9-5 that one can make what they want out of, there are opportunities all around, should you choose to take them with no real pressure to do so. And THATS just the environment! The work is very detailed, but gratifying. Helping people in need is extremely rewarding. Helping the County we live in save money is beneficial to us all. We love LA and improving the health of her communities is a goal we hold close to our hearts and actively engage in.

    Cons

This GD page is a pretty big con. It makes HA look bad, when it is actually an extremely ethical and healthy environment. We do good work here - we do very important work here - our customers deserve it and expect it and YOU/I would appreciate this if you were in our customers shoes. So petty former employees (who knew what would be expected of them) come here to vent.

    Advice to Management

Take these GD reviews with a grain of salt. I am leaving this review to offset the ones from those with no hustle. I respect the care that you give each and every account. I wish everyone took these lives as seriously as you do.

    Pros

Working here means that you are literally helping those in need and making California a better place to live. Its a lot of pressure to get things right and drives me to the the best work of my life for the individuals i assist. I am very proud to tell people that i work for Health Advocates when they ask what i do for a living.

    Cons

It is very detailed and can be challenging at times.

    Advice to Management

Continue to be kind and patient - we are all in this together.

We get out early on Fridays. We have four day weekends if Monday or Friday is a holiday. They provide coffee.

    Cons

There is no communication or room for growth. The job is extremely boring. They do not pay you enough. Management is absurdly strict.

    Advice to Management

    Stop being tyrants.

I have been working at Health Advocates full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Early fridays but thats it

    Cons

People here bring you down intentionally. This has been the worst experience of my life. The company reads these reviews and instead of fixing what is going on they create fake reviews. Do not believe anything above 1 star! I am currently deciding whether or not to tak a workers comp action against this company.

    Advice to Management

Take you head out of you know where. Listen to your workers. We cant possibly work the amount you think we can with continous degredations.
