    Pros

Company has been around for over 50 years which does show stability. Being owned by Henry Ford is a plus in this unstable industry though.

    Cons

Until recently they have been absent a CEO for a long period of time which creates a challenge for a focused direction.

    Advice to Management

Make sure everyone understands the vision and is moving in lock step.

I worked at Health Alliance Plan of Michigan full-time

    Pros

Worked for over ten years for this company and was very satisfied until my last year there.

    Cons

Management does not care about the concerns of the employees and the well being of the staff. Directors are able to treat employees with disrespect and degrade the staff. favoritism and racist treatment is the norm. Under certain departments mainly Payment Integrity. The staff is controlled by a dictator and insecure, paranoid individual who has gotten away with intimidation tactics for years.

    Advice to Management

    listen to your employees.

    Pros

Friendly people. Easy to get along with coworkers. Dedicated to customer experience.

Slow to recognize and promote talent. Slow to restructure and adapt to every changing healthcare landscape. Severely understaffed. Not the most competitive salaries. Would be better off separate from parent company Henry Ford Health System.

    Advice to Management

Promote, pay, and retain talent. Work for long term gain, not short term survival.
