I have been working at Health Fitness full-time

    Pros

Consistent work with an OK salary. You'll never be asked to do an overwhelming or unrealistic level of work. Work environment is pretty relaxed.

    Cons

No real incentive to do more than the minimum, so coworkers tend to do as little as possible.
Far too many online systems to maintain for such a simple job. There's no reason I should be logging into 6 or 7 different websites to perform my job.

    Advice to Management

Develop some semblance of standards and maintain them. It's not a bad job to have, but it can be very easy to skate by and do nothing. This drags down the morale of other employees.
Reduce the number of websites your employees must use! It is an unnecessary headache and leads to things being ignored or forgotten.

I worked at Health Fitness full-time

    Pros

Most coaches work from home offices. All the coaches are willing to help each other out. Supervisors are good to work with. Generally there is a lot of continuing training. Information about career opportunities within the company is available weekly.

    Cons

Huge amount of "administrative" work coaches have to do, over and above actual coaching time. If you are working from a home office, expect to do some of this on your own time (overtime not allowed).

Very, very heavy emphasis on meeting metrics for certain number of calls per hour. Metrics are negatively impacted by no-show coaching calls, which coaches have no control over -- so you are evaluated on something you can do nothing about.

There have been layoffs of coaches, advisors, and admin staff each of the last 3 years due to loss of clients and management mistakes.

I have been working at Health Fitness full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Health Fitness hires fantastic people. You will work alongside individuals with passion for what they do.

    Cons

Lack of senior leadership. Unclear direction and limited guidance. There is not much room to grow beyond middle management.

    Advice to Management

It would be beneficial to have more RD's/senior leaders.
