I have been working at Health Fitness full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The aquatic staff is great and the facility is fantastic. The members/students/alumni are really interesting!

    Cons

There are limited professional development opportunities, so you need to create your own. The pay is not enough for the experience level and the amount of work that is completed.

    Advice to Management

Have a professional development plan in place for each full time staff. And re-visit the Health Fitness contract, the staff really don't get paid enough to keep up with the cost of living in Boston.

I worked at Health Fitness full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Depending on the contract between HealthFitness and business but, I loved how collaborative my HealthFitness team was with a Health Insurance company's Wellness Department. If my husband didn't relocate to a different city I would have never left this company. HealthFitness hires great people and pay is reasonable.

    Cons

Hard to progress your career in the company on the Fitness Management side. they do online trainings but, not to many one-one training opportunities to learn how to progress. Also, since they contract with businesses there might come a time when the business doesn't renew their original contract and go with a cheaper company. HealthFitness will do their best to find you a new job but that doesn't always work out.

    Advice to Management

Provide more corporate one on one training sessions to all employees who want to progress and grow with the company. Also, provide more ways for different sites to interact with each other more often in person.
