I have been working at Health Network Laboratories full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent place to work. President/CEO is a strategic visionary that cares about all levels of the organization. Heath care and time-off benefits are very generous.

    Cons

    Growing pains with expanding territories

    Advice to Management

Continue open conversations with frontline employees

I have been working at Health Network Laboratories full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Steady employment, many nice co-workers, hospital labs offer all the amenities like great cafeterias compared to the core lab, and convenient parking.

    Cons

It is very difficult to advance or transfer as jobs are created with current employees in mind. . The amount of work expected to be processed during a shift is considerably higher than a hospital lab and more like a reference lab. Compared to similar reference lab jobs, they are low paying for MTs positions/4-yr MTs get same pay as 2-yr MLTs. Average pay increase is is below 2% for fully functional employees.

    Advice to Management

Alter policy of minimum staffing to adequate staffing. Reduce the size of the executive/administrative teams and increase the actual testing workforce size. Cease the favoritism when filling in-house positions. Consider using more of your profit dollars on employees who work to generate those profits instead of giving them to LVHN.

    Pros

Growing company, many job opportunities, job security, friendly co-workers, good benefits package, all three shifts available, very up to date technology, and follow CAP requirements strictly

    Cons

Slightly disorganized, takes a while to move up in company, high turnover rate due to low salary, lots of gossip, glass ceiling in most positions, mandatory overtime for no-shows

    Advice to Management

Try to keep staff more up to date on changes and happenings in department. Also more feedback from management both positive and negative would have been helpful.

I worked at Health Network Laboratories (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    you get paid
coworkers are talented nd conscientious. I'd never have lab work done elsewhere.

    Cons

You get occurrences, like demerits, for certain things such as using earned sick time, comin in three or more minutes late, using emergency PTO for something like a doctors apt or a sick child. After three occurrences, verbal and written warnings begin.
Some people are given privileges others aren't.
It's often hard to use PTO as only one person can be off at a time in some departments, If a department is short staffed, sometimes PTO can be frozen, which means no one can be off till the new hire is fully trained, which can take quite a while.

    Advice to Management

you have talented, conscientious employees. Treat them as such. Things happen in people's lives they have no control over and that should be taken in to consideration.

I have been working at Health Network Laboratories full-time

    Pros

Decent hourly pay for the region. Good benefits and 401K/matching. Company is growing which means there will eventually be more jobs available. Shift differential for off-shifts is the best in the region.Yearly bonus for good work review.

    Cons

Not all departments are created equal. Certain departments have very strict rules while other departments are lax. Therefore certain departments have a very high turnover.

Paid time off policies vary from department to department and even shift to shift. The off-shifts are treated as fairly.

    Advice to Management

Encouragement rather than chastising employees is a much more effective way to get employees to be more productive. Higher more help for the off-shifts before bringing in more testing.
