    Pros

Growing company, many job opportunities, job security, friendly co-workers, good benefits package, all three shifts available, very up to date technology, and follow CAP requirements strictly

    Cons

Slightly disorganized, takes a while to move up in company, high turnover rate due to low salary, lots of gossip, glass ceiling in most positions, mandatory overtime for no-shows

    Advice to Management

Try to keep staff more up to date on changes and happenings in department. Also more feedback from management both positive and negative would have been helpful.

I worked at Health Network Laboratories full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

If you are a coder and you like what you do it is a good environment to code

    Cons

The company doesn't always recognize their employees potential and utilize their strengths and put them to good use. Management needs help in learning how to be more sensitive to diversity and to be fair and diplomatic. There is a sub-culture that exists there.

    Advice to Management

learn to be more diplomatic and discard favoratism.

I worked at Health Network Laboratories (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    you get paid
coworkers are talented nd conscientious. I'd never have lab work done elsewhere.

    Cons

You get occurrences, like demerits, for certain things such as using earned sick time, comin in three or more minutes late, using emergency PTO for something like a doctors apt or a sick child. After three occurrences, verbal and written warnings begin.
Some people are given privileges others aren't.
It's often hard to use PTO as only one person can be off at a time in some departments, If a department is short staffed, sometimes PTO can be frozen, which means no one can be off till the new hire is fully trained, which can take quite a while.

    Advice to Management

you have talented, conscientious employees. Treat them as such. Things happen in people's lives they have no control over and that should be taken in to consideration.

    Pros

I can honestly say rhis was one of the best jobs Ive ever had. An amazing company to work for. Great benefits, wonderful co workers and complete organization of upper management.

    Cons

The only bad thing I can say is that I had to move out of state for personal reasons.

I have been working at Health Network Laboratories full-time

    Pros

Decent hourly pay for the region. Good benefits and 401K/matching. Company is growing which means there will eventually be more jobs available. Shift differential for off-shifts is the best in the region.Yearly bonus for good work review.

    Cons

Not all departments are created equal. Certain departments have very strict rules while other departments are lax. Therefore certain departments have a very high turnover.

Paid time off policies vary from department to department and even shift to shift. The off-shifts are treated as fairly.

    Advice to Management

Encouragement rather than chastising employees is a much more effective way to get employees to be more productive. Higher more help for the off-shifts before bringing in more testing.

    Pros

Good amount of PTO and EPTO provided

    Cons

Mandatory overtime, must stay in case of bad weather (unable to leave), very difficult to get off, must work every other weekend mandatory, low pay

    Advice to Management

Pay more. The low pay turns employees off. Especially with the heavy workload.

I worked at Health Network Laboratories full-time

    Pros

Can work independently, Mgrs mostly hands off, good health benefits (if you live in the Allentown area), 401K, pension after 5 yrs, track your mileage independently

    Cons

Pay increases very few despite making numbers, upper mgmt disconnected from current sales market (old school thinking), no room for advancement, communication among depts (IT, Cust Care, Sales, Lab) very poor. Company retains longtime employees despite their poor performance and outright resistance to evolve/change their ways for the benefit of the company.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Get rid of dead weight within the company, esp Exec Team

Former Employee - Customer Care Representative in Macungie, PA

I worked at Health Network Laboratories full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good insurance, good PTO, really not other pros to speak of as management makes the job horrible to endure.

    Cons

Poor pay, poor management, no room for advancement, all not treated fairly (only some who are favored by management). Unprofessional supervisors, will even lie, deny or make things up to not get themselves in trouble with higher ups.

    Advice to Management

HR needs to listen more to their employees on management complaints and actually do something to correct the issue rather than just let it go.

    Pros

Work life balance is good. Territories are very small.

    Cons

Changes taking place but no clear direction.

    Advice to Management

Management very slow to implement new ideas. Company is too reactive instead of proactive.
