    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Health Quest part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I have had the pleasure of volunteering with Putnam Hospital in their Auxiliary thrift shop, Eagle Eye, Too, in Mahopac. Michelle Piazza has been very patient and accommodating for my schedule, and has always sent an email or given a phone call whenever I could be helpful. At least 2 people were needed for the shop to open, which had the effect of giving you a companion the whole time.

This was a VOLUNTEER position, so no monetary compensation was received. However, we were free to peruse the items available in the store during free time, including a great collection of books.

    Cons

The price of running Eagle Eye, Too, has been too much to be profitable, so at the year's end it will be closed. This is unfortunate, but is what has to be done. Transportation is not provided, though as the shop requires multiple people to open carpooling is entirely feasible.

    Advice to Management

Keeping lights on and running the air-conditioning when people are not present likely contributed to the shop's expenses. Mandating that all utilities be turned off before leaving would help cut waste and associated costs, without greatly impairing the shop itself.

I worked at Health Quest full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Culture is great and work life balance is incredible

    Cons

Not really any...As in all health care you work beside people that have been there for 20+ year and are bitter and feel entitled. This exists everywhere, for the most part everyone is great

    Advice to Management

Keep working on this path and the culture will form as needed. I enjoyed my employment with the company.

    Pros

Respectable peers and physicians. The management support continuing education and offers benefits for programs, and time spent developing projects to educate peers and grow in the nursing profession. The work environment is more safe than other regional hospitals

    Cons

Staffing needs. Some policies need to be updated, and the progress of modernizing policies seems somewhat slow.
