Fair Employer - TBD w/ new owner, IHC

    Pros

Under HCP, co. was fair, open, pro-team member. Now under new owner Intermountain Healthcare, a non-profit that operates on different financial motivations, policies are changing affecting employee morale

    Cons

Work-life balance has always been a struggle Mngt. under HCP was more open. They are now more beholden to the new owner IHC and may not have the best interest of the team member

Game of Thrones Type Work Place

    Pros

Good relationships with other frontline staff (non-management)

    Cons

Work-life balance They will NOT work with those currently in school trying to better themselves. They specifically told everyone that the only schooling they will make accommodations for is nursing or to become a medical assistant since those can be completely online. So, if you are going to school or planning on doing so, make sure it’s 100% online or you will not be able to attend because they do NOT care, don’t let their tuition reimbursement program fool you. The Oncology department has managers that are inexperienced in managing, and they treat the job as one big party, always out at the store getting Crumbl cookies and donuts, etc whenever they possibly could, any excuse for them NOT to be present in the office. You could never find the managers, because BOTH of them hid somewhere in the offices away from all the employees. They hardly engaged the employees, you were maybe asked once a week how things were or if there are any issues. When you did talk to them, they both had a bad habit of giggling during the conversation, leaving you to think if they took anything you had said seriously. There is NO team, more like Game of Thrones antics, you have to do what you can to survive and not to upset the wrong person/people. With the Game of Thrones antics, one of the practice managers specifically was/is very buddy buddy with certain employees and had favoritism for them. She believed anything and everything they said like it was written as law. She was completely biased in ALL of her management decisions she made. They let people who they like do whatever they want and treat people however they wanted without any reprimand. The other parts of the company I cannot speak for since I only had the unfortunate experience working with the Oncology department. But let the high turn over rates and unhappiness of the employees speak for itself. Save yourself a headache and choose a different company or department to work for. Job security and advancement Was given extra job duties that were not apart of my original job description and was told either I do them or I will not have a job. When asked for training, I was provided a stack of papers and was told to figure it out. Management Read first part of review Culture They will pick and choose who’s achievements, birthdays, etc to celebrate. If you are not apart of the ones that are “liked” then you are treated second rate. Overall Just think Game of Thrones with Highschool minded adults running the place who think their s—t doesn’t stink, but when in fact their s—t is the worst smelling. There is A LOT of talking behind others’ backs and A LOT of pathetic unnecessary Highschool drama Do not work in the Oncology department!

    Pros

    - Steady Paycheck - Nice Office - Clean Bathrooms

    Cons

    - crap benefits even for healthcare - low pay - management is clueless - upper management is completely out of touch - constant change to the overall organization has established a culture of apathy - management hires done from outside the company only - no actual training or career growth provided - serious system problems and management chooses to ignore them - incompetence and bullying are rewarded - successful and accomplished are rewarded with more work - decision makers have no clue about the business or clinical operations - patients come last

    Pros

Physicians are good at their job.

    Cons

I work in oncology. Too many gossiping employees so eveybody know how much the other makes. Management is either incompetent or the good ones are not allowed to do what they need to do. Good ones don't stay long. Turnover in management is too high. Little to no stability. If you have balls, you will be castrated by this environment.
