I have been working at HealthPlan Services full-time

    Pros

A lot of the people are great to work with. The PTO allotment is good, although that may be changing.

    Cons

This company continues it's downward spiral. The executives have over-promised and under-delivered to clients for years, and the result is all clients are constantly in a state of dissatisfaction. Therefore, the company is always rushing to put out the latest fire. There is always talk of "Doing the Right Things for the Right Reason", which is a company "value", but this is never put into practice.

The IT culture is one of defensiveness and CYA, because the leadership is always looking for a scapegoat to take the fall for their poor decisions and inability to perform. The arrogance of the IT leadership team is incredible, considering they fail on every initiative. The IT atmosphere is extremely unprofessional, as leadership screams at people and calls them names in front of others.

The compensation is not competitive, and the general attitude is that people are free to find another place of employment.

The HR team is virtually invisible and very cliquish. When you encounter them in the hallway, they are aloof and unfriendly. It is virtually impossible to get questions answered or to get anything else from them that you would traditionally utilize an HR team for.

HPS was purchased several months ago by a foreign company. It seems as if they have two goals: 1) Slowly replace HPS personnel with their own employees, and 2) Impose their culture of low pay, long hours. The second will eventually lead to the first, because people are going to leave. They don't appear to take the time to learn anything prior to making huge business decisions. They make demands that don't make sense for HPS' niche, and don't seem to be interested in feedback. Overall, the future looks pretty bleak.

    Advice to Management

I don't think there is anything to be said. People have said it all for years, and management hasn't been interested, so there is no reason to believe that would change.

    Pros

Every team was an extension to your own family, very close knit groups.. Always helpful and informative. Had the best potlucks.. Customer Service Week is the BEST!!!!!! During "OPEN ENROLLMENT" co workers really lend a helping hand to the "newbies" even Lisa is willing to assist associates. and Upper Management had an OPEN DOOR Policy.
    Good Benefits. Cafe on location

    Cons

Everyone needs to be more on the same page. and if something has been changed please tell at the time it goes into effect and not the only time you hear about the change is when you are called out for it. Not all team managers are not "there for" you if you are working overtime.

    Advice to Management

Get everyone on the same page!

I have been working at HealthPlan Services full-time

    Pros

Some of the workers are great and professional.

    Cons

They hire ghetto hoodrats and dope boys. Low class unprofessional hoodrats. A few trainers shouldn't be training or trying to play christian. Leave ur fake religion at home, while you trying to bang. A few chicks. One shuttle bus sucks. The lack of communications. Pay needs to be higher. They need to survey the employees. Horrible company with no room for growth.

    Advice to Management

Quit and hire better less project chick and thug people.

    Pros

Each year more paid time off, possible pay increase. Work options as this company grows is great. Some work is available at home.

    Cons

Promotions nix you from yearly pay increase until next year. Insurance costs are high, package choices are small. Pay increase for promoting can be small too.

    Advice to Management

Make promotions something people will want!

Recently purchased by WIPRO from India. Leadership is running like the building was on fire. Managers and VPs are seeing that the company is being dismantled and bailing out. Open enrollment will be a disaster.
