I have been working at HealthStream full-time

    Pros

    CEO is a visionary
    Casual/flexible work environment
    Dedicated & loyal employees

    Cons

Benefits leave a LOT to be desired
Growing company, still operating like a small company
Customer support turnover and lack of bodies, creates additional work those in customer facing roles. Lines of responsibility have become skewed and customers are caught in the middle. Not knowing who to contact when they have a problem, and not having much faith in the support anymore.

    Advice to Management

Go back to being employee focused. Pouring into your employees will yield positive results for the morale and productivity.

Be more aware of individual contribution

I worked at HealthStream full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible hours, remote working. Marketing has improved a lot over the last several years. Good vacation/PTO hours.

    Cons

Was let go with no warning despite doing a good job. Terrible 401K program and healthcare benefits aren't very good. High stress work environment. Work life balance was always an issue. Morale issues.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees more. Not all positions/divisions are equal. Work life balance are not considered, it's just what have you done for me today. People have families and it doesn't leave a good impression to anyone (current employees and industry) to just let people go for no other reason than to cut $$$. Employee expense program needs reviewed.

I worked at HealthStream full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy to start, easy to get hired, plus there's no real quotas to fill and it's very easy work. There's also opportunity for overtime.

    Cons

Low pay for a call center job and it gets really monotonous and can be a very boring day to day job.

    Pros

    Flexible work environment.

    Cons

Pay is not competitive. Forced to higher inexperienced reps into higher sales roles. High turnover. Terrible benefits.

    Advice to Management

Hire experienced sales professionals. Competent people want to work with competent people. Be open and honest with team members.

I have been working at HealthStream full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great work environment to work at. Sales leaders also tend to micromanage instead of coach and encourage. Strong selling structure as well.

    Cons

Regions and territories not distributed equally. Also, comp plan has been decreasing the last couple of years.

    Advice to Management

Don't decrease comp plans every year. Get a better sales environment by including more training and development for staff.

I have been working at HealthStream (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This is a fast growing company with a lot of good people. Nashville office has a lot of employee teams that do different things. Could be a lot of fun.

    Cons

They do not engage remote employees effectively and the benefits (particularly 401k match) are not great.

    Advice to Management

Invest more in employee benefits (401k match) and do more to embrace the fact that you have employees across the country, not just in Nashville.
