I worked at Healthcare Association of NYS full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Worked with a great boss who gave freedom and guidance to get the job done. The team I worked on was hard working and really focused on the end result.

    Cons

Other departments goals conflicted with ours. Overall the finance department seems to do the majority of the leading and it could work a bit more in tandem with other departments and be more open to change and advice.

    Pros

Ample opportunity to grow, learn and explore different issue areas. Work is interesting, varied and challenging. People are generally helpful and friendly.

    Cons

Exempt staff work grueling hours and compensation tends to favor non-exempt employees who are eligible for overtime pay. No work-life balance for middle managers.
