I have been working at Healthcare Trust of America full-time

    Pros

Pay. Double market value- Will be hard to find another comparable position. I will never match the pay - but it’s not even worth it after this many years of insanity.

    Cons

Mindboggling to see the level of unhealthy. Emotionally abusive at times. Will be leaving as soon as my child graduates next fall- cannot come soon enough. leadership constantly pivoting to his whim- Often fly in for meetings to be yelled at for hours with no progress.

I worked at Healthcare Trust of America full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Nice co-workers, good work schedule, good benefits, matching 401k

    Cons

Lack of clear direction and goals from corporate, lacking in corporate culture, failure to value employees, high turn over due to lack of training, poor planning and execution from the top levels. Unorganized and slow to resolve important issues at properties due to unrealistic approval process. You are just a replaceable, faceless employee.

    Pros

Some of the people who work here are great.

    Cons

HR department needs QUALIFIED people. Executives and Upper management need a shake up and overhaul. Extremely high turnover (always a sign of bad managers)

I worked at Healthcare Trust of America

    Pros

Upper Management and C level employees are all very friendly, and approachable for the most part. I enjoyed my interactions with them. All other employees were pleasant for the most part as well. There is really no complaints from me on that front. They cater lunch three days a week. Have a healthcare plan that is free, and great pay. You’ll work hard, and be tasked with taking all the accountability of your projects. It’s great if you want to make a difference in a company.

    Cons

The entire reason I left was based on one person’s absolutely heinous behavior towards me. She clearly didn’t like that anyone had the position I was hired for, and made that crystal clear immediately. She was the only person in the company with the knowledge to train me in my position, and she flat out refused to train me in any meaningful way. Which left me to figure it out for the most part. For the last 6 months I was there (which was most of my time there) she wouldn’t even speak to me face to face. No “hey”, “good morning”, nothing. It was really bizarre. I’ve never had a person direct such hate towards me. We certainly didn’t need to be best friends, but I think it’s fair to expect a level of professional behavior. This person who worked as my superior, constantly threw up road blocks, was tactless, undiplomatic, and flat out rude at times. I heard her one day saying horrible things about me to the person in the cube next me to. I told my boss about it as it was happening, and we talked. Things didn’t improve. I was so uncomfortable every day I just couldn’t take it anymore. It’s unfortunate because I liked my job for the most part, but I refuse to let a company, and a person treat me like that. They were aware of the behavior. It didn’t change, so I knew where I stood. Watch out for this person. They are what I call a Narcissist Martyr. They willingly throw themselves into situations in order take charge in crisis scenarios to get the recognition. Recognition seems to be her main focal point. The need to be liked, and praised is strong for her. I don’t necessarily see anything wrong with that. However, the toxicity of her desires became clear considering her actions towards me from day one, as well as witnessing her take over projects she had no business in because she saw the opportunity for praise. She’s smart, and she can do her work with complete competency, better in fact. I would have loved the opportunity to work under her, and grow. One would think a person so smart would see the opportunity to take a person working under them, as an avenue to showcase their leadership abilities. Clearly her narrow mindedness got the best of her. How unfortunate. I wish the best for HTA, and I wish my parting could have been on better terms, but life goes on.

I have been working at Healthcare Trust of America full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The accounting team that I work with is great. They are very supportive in helping our team and organization grow and move forward. They are constantly trying to learn and improve, which is exactly what makes this such a fun environment. When I see areas to improve, my managers are very receptive and give me the opportunity to take the lead.

    Cons

The accounting side is often blamed for problems that develop elsewhere. This has gotten better over the last year or so. However, it's never fun to be attacked when you are simply trying to do your job.

I have been working at Healthcare Trust of America full-time

    Pros

You will learn a lot and be challenged every single day. Our team is very talented in their individual fields. Very collaborative team.

    Cons

Should have an adaptable personality to work here-pro for some con for others. You may sometimes have to take your computer home at night or past 5 to complete your work.
