    A Battle of Egos

Oct 16, 2022 - Medicare in New York, NY
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Flexible, hybrid, schedule. Managers who comprehend that some individuals are more productive when working from home. Comprehensive benefits. Nice office environment if being onsite is required. Extensive compliance training that is well designed. Friendly staff when you can find them. Fair pay. Growth opportunities.

    Cons

Exhaustive onboarding process. The company wants to mandate more onsite workdays which means we incur the expense of commuting and lose precious time commuting. Managers who lose perspective due to their egotistical nature and focus on intimidation tactics to fuel their superiority needs. Ego-centric and narcissistic micromanagers create a miserable work environment for staff. Unprofessional and immature behavior from staff at any level. Co-workers with ill intent. A lack of mutual respect, consideration, and support. High turnover. The feeling of an intense environment.

    Pros

The organization really cares about its member

    Cons

It is a lot of work. We are understaffed like most of our healthcare system but management tries. Management is very top heavy and doesn’t follow lower level employee lead. Things are implemented abruptly and changes are not communicated effectively

Good company but with a pattern of making the same mistakes every year

Nov 3, 2022 - Manager in New York, NY
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Good pay, benefits. The organization is looking to grow and offer more perks to staff including Peloton benefits, counseling, etc. Very good work/life balance.

    Cons

Lack of systems, moves too quickly, politics, and a habit of retaining incompetent leadership due to politics. The company also prides itself on diversity but you see few people of color in leadership roles.

    Pros

I like the culture, the people and mission! There is also a visions of how to improve healthcare and how to get there.

    Cons

We are an evolving comp. This has positives and negatives. This is necessary given that health needs to transform. Not a place for someone who is not willing to grow.

    Supportive

Sep 15, 2022 - Facilities Support Specialist in New York, NY
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

It's a good support system to be around among peers. There are also great, personable people who you can have meaningful exchanges with on a daily basis. Plus the work-life balance is easily attainable, which turns down any potential stress points.

    Cons

The PTO/sick day configuration is confusing and very minimal at best. Not every employee, especially if non-exempt, will achieve the same or comparable treatment to other workers.
