StarStarStarStarStarI have been working at Healthfirst (New York)
Pros
Plenty of growth, good benefits, competitive pay

Pros
Met great people, commute, good benefits and work/life balance
Cons
Management does not care about the development and growth of their team. People are placed in leadership positions with NO idea on how to actually lead a team. Also, a very chaotic and unorganized organization.

Pros
Good benefits and pay structure. If you are lucky enough to be placed on a good team, you have the ability to learn a lot during your time here.
Cons
Management is very disconnected from their employees. Seems like there is a trend at HF that non-management employees are labelled as "Resources", and not as the hard-working people that they are. Upon starting here, you will be told that there are many cross-functional teams and you will work with a plethora of employees. Within a few days at HF you realize that 80% of the work here is cookie-cutter desk work and... most conversations take place over Skype Business chat. Company's primary and only focus is profit. Promotions are given out based on time spent at the company, and rarely based on quality of work/performance.

Pros
Good benefits, generous PTO accrual and carryover, great 401(k) match, pay is competitive for a non-profit health insurer
Cons
Honestly hate coming here every day but I need a paycheck. Healthfirst has some amazing, dedicated, highly intelligent people, who are passionate about the mission and members. The biggest issue here is LEADERSHIP at the highest levels of the organization, or the lack there of it. Orders and directives are issued on high from Mount Olympus with a lack of clarity or direction. (Think: I want XYZ to happen! Go... make it happen and get it down tomorrow!) If a lower level employee (or as leaders more commonly refer to them as – Resources – because this place really is a post-apocalyptic dystopian nightmare) tries to surface concerns or explain processes, they are quickly dismissed. Worse yet there’s a terrible case of opposite day – direction you may given one day will do a complete 180 the next, leaving you to question your sanity. But you’re not crazy, the people leading your department are woefully out of touch and have no understanding of how to get things done in the 21 century. Fairly sure the last time one of the VPs in my department rolled up his sleeves to understand how basic processes and technology work was during the Nixon administration (enough said). So, there’s no hope for guidance, just constant berating for not having a crystal ball to understand the SVPs ‘vision,’ which changes daily. Then, when you’re totally on the ropes and utterly demoralized, you’re docked for a lack of ‘vision’ or ‘creativity.’ Healthfirst used to be an amazing place to work with great colleagues and great environment to not only learn and grow professionally, but to also feel like you were contributing to something bigger. However, with all the toxic, political non-sense, it’s hard to keep sight of that.

For starters, pick a direction and stick to it, instead of making snap decisions. Listen to and trust your 'resources' they're the ones in the trenches doing the work and likely have the best understanding of current state and how things can be improved or done differently. Everyone's ideas have value. As leaders, you should be building people up instead of tearing them down.

Pros
Great coworkers, good benefits, flexible work arrangements depending on your manager. Some bright folks and company has good mission. Many people there focused on doing the work and learning.
Cons
Blame game culture some employees do not act as one entity but rather are constantly pointing fingers at each other to save themselves or look good for advancement. Knowledgeable people are outnumbered and not heard often. When someone leaves, what they knew or work they did dies with them leaving team members and customers in the lurch. Constant restructures, fake short term goals, and dreams to grow faster than... infrastructure actually allows for which overwhelms talented employees. Antiquated tools/systems in some areas, relied heavily on excel instead of investing in actual programs to facilitate efficiency and savings. Favoritism is not hidden.
