I have been working at Healthline Networks full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great growth opportunities for career minded individuals...strong team....solid media assets. Great locations in NYC (Union Square) and SF (SOMA).

    Cons

No matching 401K, SF office gets a lot more "goodies" than NYC. Friday lunch. Parties, cookouts, events, etc.

I have been working at Healthline Networks as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people here at Healthline are very nice and welcoming. I have been working here as an intern for a few weeks and have had only positive experiences with the people. From working here, I have learned a lot about the company. I am working with Mark, the recruiter, and I am learning a lot about the recruiting process. I am really enjoying working here at Healthline and I would love to return after my internship is over.

    Cons

I haven't yet experienced any downsides of working at Healthline

I worked at Healthline Networks as a contractor

    Pros

Really enjoyed working with the team at Healthline. Very clear, positive, and allowed me to work independently.

    Cons

Honestly nothing negative to say, I was not in-office so my experience of the actual work environment was minimal.

    Advice to Management

Continue great work, love continuing to watch the progress with content and marketing.

    Pros

Incredibly talented people who are always giving their best and helping you accomplish your goals. The company is in a good position to achieve success.

    Cons

Depending on the assignment, some task may become repetitive and sometimes communication between different teams can be complicated.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

I have been working at Healthline Networks full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Exciting Industry
    Really nice people
    Really smart people
    Great office location
Benefits - both standard and fringe - are excellent
    Solid leadership across the board

    Cons

Growing pains. Again, I can't complain too much.
I hate it when my friends get taken away by big companies like Apple and Google, but clearly Healthline a a great place to be!

"Hot Company in a hot industry"

    Pros

    - Solid growth in a growing industry
    - Seasoned executive team backed by a strong, engaged board of directors
    - Strong Engineering team; other teams (SEO, Product, Ad Sales, Editorial, etc) also strong
    - Unique technology and data has enabled the company to score powerful partnerships with major brand name companies
    - Most engineers have an opportunity to significantly increase their skills

    Cons

    - As with most companies of this size, there is a constant struggle between the number of projects pursued versus the resources able to deliver, often on tight deadlines.
    - Despite these (very real) challenges, work-life balance is better than most, and there is relatively low turnover

    Advice to Management

    - Keep pursuing the ground-breaking deals and let go of some of the smaller, less important ones. Despite the well-worn cliche, the customer is not always right :-)

I have been working at Healthline Networks full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Company has two divisions, both of which are growing.
    - The media business (website) produces great content for consumers. Much better referenced and easier-to-read than other competitors.
    - The licensing business has a world-class health taxonomy -- they've won lots of big companies as clients: GE, United Healthcare, Microsoft, Aetna, Yahoo!, etc.

    Cons

Being a small company that is competing in 2 different markets (licensing to big companies and ad-supported consumer health media) does put a strain on resources. As the company has grown and become more successful (and operates the divisions more separately), the product and engineering tradeoffs have lessened, though.

    Advice to Management

I think the companies progress in two different businesses is great...but really hard for most employees to keep up with. Recently there has been better communication on what's going on in each business -- keep that up!
