Thanks for the review. I understand how taxing it can be to support an operation that runs 7 days a week and appreciate everyone's effort to make our clubs a great experience for our members.

I have been working at Healthworks Fitness Centers full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great sales training, takes ideas from employees and implements them

    Cons

Extremely high turnover rate, 100% commission based, being tired all the time since you work early in the morning and late at night, negative work environment because all the employees are tired and grumpy, your fitness manager meetings aren't very helpful and the manager doesn't actually care about how you are doing rather she wants your hours to be up so she doesn't get introuble.

    Advice to Management

You need to have a base pay out or do something so trainers can focus on helping people rather then selling. Recommending packages to clients because we need to "make the sale" isn't the greatest way of thinking.

I have been working at Healthworks Fitness Centers part-time

    Pros

I LOVE THIS COMPANY. My manager is great at managing based on the individual, so she can give tough love when necessary or be incredibly caring, depending on what you need. My clients are some of the most fascinating women I've ever met. Commission once you're out of the trainer-in-training program is very good. They regularly ask for feedback from the staff and use it to better the company. Free access to all the locations and large discounts on services. They offer frequent continuing ed classes by trainers in the company, so you can get CEUs for cheap or free; also, because the senior trainers are so knowledgable, you can learn a lot from them just during the day-to-day job. Great bonus structure-- learn how to use it to your advantage! Trainers support each other, and you don't have to worry about people stealing your clients (instead, they often refer people to you!)

    Cons

Working part-time as a trainer is only available after working at the gym a while, and only in certain situations (like continuing education, having small children, etc). It can take a while to get your business up and running--plan for many months or even a year of hard work. Split shifts are the norm.

    Advice to Management

    Great job. <3
