I have been working at Heartland Payment Systems full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Comp plan is rewarding, with vested residuals and signing bonuses. If you're good, you can make serious long-term money.

    Cons

Comp is strictly performance based, and there are no leads. This is not an entry level gig for most candidates.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring mediocre reps. Keep rewarding top performers. Protect the brand before worrying about expanding headcount.

I have been working at Heartland Payment Systems full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Onsite amenities, fair pay, job security

    Cons

Too many dead weight employees who management will not fire. No lower level employees understand how things work below surface level or care to learn ("I press the button because they told me to press the button").

    Advice to Management

Learn to truly evaluate your talent and dispose of those who don't keep up.

I have been working at Heartland Payment Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This used to be a great place to work. They cared about their employees and their clients. They did a lot to make sure you were happy and in return able to do your best work for the clients.

    Cons

After Heartland was bought by Global Payments, everything tumbled downhill. Suddenly, we didn't matter. Lays offs and budget cuts have ruined any morale that Heartland had left. In return, employees aren't doing their best work and it's affecting the clients.
