I have been working at Heartland Payment Systems full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The Support for both employees and customer service is outstanding.

    Cons

If selling card processing for an outstanding direct processor with a short sales cycle is what you are looking for there is no Con. Activity will equal your opportunity.

    Advice to Management

Consider Territory Management that can assign each RM with a number of target accounts to call on per territory every week/year (example 2,500 merchants per year per RM and track FTA's based on this sales metrics) - manage relationships outside of assigned territory on an account per bases. When considering the results, it would be better customer retention, less frustration both by customers being called on by to many RM's and happier RM's whose time is being well spent.

I have been working at Heartland Payment Systems full-time

    Pros

If you're someone driven for success, then this is the perfect company to work for. You determine your own schedule and ultimately how much money you want to make. HPS provides incredible business solutions to merchants worldwide (strategically partnered with Global Payment Systems who recently acquired HPS). In addition, Heartland offers its employees the resources and support necessary to be an industry leader with an unprecedented retention rate for both its employees and its clients.

    Cons

Paying a lot in taxes because of the generous earning structure.

    Advice to Management

Continue to provide us with the same, undeniably wonderful support and we will continue to provide you with more and more happy clients.

I have been working at Heartland Payment Systems part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Heartland ECSI has a great company culture! The environment is fun and exciting and I look forward to going to work each day. All levels of management are extremely communicative and open to suggestions. The company has an open door policy and I feel like my input is respected and considered throughout the company.

    Cons

The pay is slightly less than I anticipated, but the relaxed culture and intrinsic rewards associated with my work are greater than they would be elsewhere, so that may play a part in the pay.

I have been working at Heartland Payment Systems full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I love this job. It's good money. You get treated well. You are a W2 employee. What I like most is you get to make the money of sales position without the expense of traveling from store to store.

    Cons

The first few months are brutal. Lots of cold calls until you begin to build a customer base. Once you do that, however, the work is much easier so hang on.

    Advice to Management

Keep building inside team. Customers like it.

Difficult to build portfolio on just cold calling though it can be done.
