I have been working at Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals NHS Trust full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Heatherwood Hospital is a small cottage hospital. Since it is a small unit, people knows each other and are very warm and friendly. Most staff lives in the community around it so most of the people are local. Thus making them more attached to the hospital.

    Cons

It is a very old hospital with loads of history. It needs a little bit of modernization.

    Pros

Location - close to London. 25 minute drive from west London.

    Cons

Looks horrible. Mediocre work environment. Things don't work and don't happen. Life is made harder and not easier by managers.

    Advice to Management

Remove most managers (rota managers, etc etc)

    Pros

great place to work, good envoirnment, cooperative colleauges, competitive salary. Chance of promotion internally if working hard and showing competence.

    Cons

Management not fully aware of the competencies of each worker. Line management is confusing.
home working is not supported thus a work home life balance is dificult to manage.

    Advice to Management

Know your staff , have a clear line and work management by speciality. Allow the workers flexibilty in working so that full attaention can be given to work.
