I have been working at Heathrow Airport full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great company to work for. Great benifits and wage. Great mangers love my section. Love the airport been there 24 years

    Cons

Coat cutting. Bringing in young people with no motivation to share the work load. This will only get worse. Should bring in ex police officers or ex army

    Advice to Management

Bring in ex service personal. They have discipline and can work as a team. The younger staff are not team players and have trouble working with older more experience staff.

I worked at Heathrow Airport full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The sheer scale of the place allows for opportunities

    Cons

The environment is not process driven but is very much built on tacit knowledge, gaining the knowledge initially is very difficult

    Advice to Management

Develop more process driven thinking and structure

I have been working at Heathrow Airport (More than a year)

    Pros

    Friendly, open management environment

    Cons

Limited in terms of the projects it can offer

    Advice to Management

Still lots of streamlining to be done within the corporate structure, its happening albeit slowly. Lots of old BAA systems and methods seem to be in play.

I have been working at Heathrow Airport full-time

    Pros

    some Training and development opportunities

    Cons

Too political and too much favouritism. Line managers who are not qualified to manage. It's not what you know but who you know to progress your career here.

    Advice to Management

If you want Heathrow to be a great place to work you need to listen to your employees

I have been working at Heathrow Airport full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great company with good pay an amazing full benefit package. Also focuses on diversity to make sure the work place is inclusive. Very free and agile environment with few micromanagers left in the business. Very forward looking.

    Cons

Still highly unionised environment where the main union often doesn't represent the real views of employees any longer... Hence stifling progress.

I worked at Heathrow Airport full-time

    Pros

    none, other than its name

    Cons

low wage, poor training, and nothing serious about what company says, i refused their employment offer, and saw their staff at work. absolutely zero customer service, so everything fake.

    Advice to Management

the company needs a complete reform starting from recruiting process. Heathrow does not deserve third runway with current leadership.

I worked at Heathrow Airport full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Real focus on employee culture and passenger service. Good packages of benefits. Strong leadership at board level. Very capable and talented people throughout the organisation.

    Cons

Something of a legacy of meetings culture, still relatively slow moving and complex due to the regulatory regime. Workforce is still highly unionised so change needs to be planned very carefully. Office is a bit of a bubble on the edge of the airport.

    Advice to Management

    Sustain focus on existing strategy

    Cons

    Favouritism
    Politics
    Poor middle and senior management
    Toxic working environment
Category manager looking for employment at a credible employer - looks elsewhere

    Advice to Management

    Listen
