I worked at Heidrick & Struggles as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Top brand name in executive search. Terrific mentor(s). Good family/worklife balance. Supportive financially

    Cons

    I have none.

    Advice to Management

I was allowed to work with the best of the best as I have seen in search, over a fruitful career thus far. I have placed game changers over many industries. So my advice to management would be "thank you"!

I have been working at Heidrick & Struggles full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great to develop and grow within the company. People are very supportive. Team's are generally simple to work with. A lot of events to attend.

    Cons

Salary doesn't equal workload. Lack of recognition for achievements. A lot of competition. People smile in your face and slander you from behind. Work/Life balance is terrible at many levels.

    Advice to Management

Promotions, job advancement in general, needs to be better dealt with. Many people are in positions they shouldn't be and many shouldn't be getting paid as much as they are.

I worked at Heidrick & Struggles as an intern

    Pros

Great exposure to many fields, get to work closely with higher level consultants, work feels valuable.

    Cons

At times work gets repetitive and can be dismissed (but that's the nature of search). Sometimes felt as though it was more of a popularity contest and making sure you're saying the correct things rather than being rated on performance.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the training improvements and college recruitment program!

    Pros

Great team and fantastic leadership. Powerful brand in the market. Strategic client relationships. Chance to make an impact with clients and with own career. Truly global reach.

    Cons

Requires an always on mentality to keep in touch with clients, candidates, and colleagues. Less nimble than smaller boutique competitors.
