    Pros

It is very close to small town living. If you can stay away from management and focus on work, then it can be OK...

    Cons

Management couldn't have less respect for anyone they interact with. They're so overly entitled, they actually take advantage of any opportunity to manipulate their employees, that it's done out in the open.
It was an open "joke" - even with a senior VP that the bonus program is the "Monday Morning Bonus". In other words no matter how great you do in general or how amazing a specific achievement was, you're lucky to come back to work on Monday.
Employee achievement is actually DENIED so that there aren't any grounds for recognition or compensation.
One of the ironic considerations is that the people- management included are very nice.

    Advice to Management

Disrespect by management is so deliberate and profound, I can't imagine "advice" would even be taken seriously. " In My Mind", is the only place reality exists.

    Pros

    Work schedule is 4-10hr shifts
    Reasonable benefits.
Low traffic area so the commute is good.

    Cons

Poor scheduling and planning resulting in inconsistent workload.
Upper management surrounds themselves with "Yes Men" who have no clue as to what they are doing.
Disciplinary actions are based more on who you are rather than what you did.
Little to no incentive for advancement.
    Poor training.
    Poor communication at all levels.
    Vindictive lower management.

    Advice to Management

This place could really be a better place to work if management gets a major overhaul including replacing many of them or the rank and file employees need a UNION.

    Pros

Located in a rural area that is easy to get to
    Many dedicated and good employees
    Average pay and benefits
    Typical manufacturing environment
Niche products with some growth potential

    Cons

Expect you to work 60 to 70 hours per week with very little praise and recognition. Initially they like all new employees. Then within months all they see in the employees are their weaknesses. If you are looking for job security and a positive place to work, stay away from Helac Corporation.

Long term planning and strategic thinking is missing. Managemnt strength is minimum with too many of them closed minded.

    Advice to Management

Quite being so distrusting of your good employees
    Start thinking strategically
Realize that the attachment division will never be main stream

No message that there is a next chapter.
    A lack of diversification.
Treatment of employees as expendable tools.
    Weak Sales department.
A lack of top down support for implemented changes.
    Poor or misleading indices.
Many employees who do not understand the big picture, ROI, productivity vs activity, etc.
Slow acceptance of modern manufacturing methods and controls.
    Weak followup on "programs."
    Too many meetings.
    Weak accounting controls.
    Failure of safety efforts.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Limited supervision, wage ,and a sense of family with the long term employees

    Cons

Look at all the previous reviews, need I say more? Its time that senior management, drop the blinders and see what is REALLY going on. If success was based purely on employee morale, Helac would barely register a pulse. It truly make me sad to say that.....but its true. New employees are actually temporary.....led to believe there are job openings until they are interviewed.

    Advice to Management

Take serious consideration of liquidating your current "Operations" VP. We are so far behind and its only getting worse. Be honest and involved with your employees... there is a giant disconnect between management and the day to day staff. Lead by example; stop taking all the perks away from the employees, while continuing to endulge yourselves with the same.

    Pros

Located in a small town that's easy to get to with great views of the surrounding mountains but that doesn't pay the bills.

    Cons

Ownership surround itself with incompetent yes men blind to what's really going on or just don't care. Management is more concerned with how they look to the ownership that they don't or won't work to fix the real problems. The planning and scheduling department is inept at best. Rank and file employees get nothing in return for their efforts other than being treated like a rental car(used abused and unappreciated)

    Advice to Management

Ownership needs to sell the company off to an entity that is willing to make any real changes to make the company a viable place to work

    Pros

They have 4-10 shifts which is great when work is low. You will need the 3 day weekends. Benefits are not the best but are ok. The people who work at Helac are friendly and nice. Good location in a small town.

    Cons

Poorly equipped management team. Laborers are not paid what they are worth. Many spend long hours here building the products only to receive little compensation. Unfortunately in todays economy many are stuck here.

    Advice to Management

Please review what people are making here. This company is profitable yet does not treat and compensate the people who manually work the hardest to bring success to Helac.
