I have been working at Helena Chemical full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Incredible inside support from the team. Job security is definitely a plus. Catalog of proprietary products second to none. Opportunity to manage ones time.

    Cons

May be a pro or a con but overturn in positions are limited. This means people do not want to leave company but it limits new positions to back-fill.

I have been working at Helena Chemical full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flexible with your schedule if you have stuff come up. Retirement plan is great. PTO adds up quick if you have overtime.

    Cons

The pay isn't the greatest for the amount of work one does. I guess it depends on your location. If your not working in an office prepare to get your hands dirty.

"My overall experience with Helena was not good at all. Branch managers and above treat subordinates as floor mats .0""

I worked at Helena Chemical full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Benefits and insurance are very good . Lower office staff are usually very friendly and capable people that go overboard to help customers and newer employees from other offices.

    Cons

Low pay and broken promises of bonuses. Hostile environment to work in . Employees are expected to do the job of several people without any extra compensation or appreciation. Branch managers/salesmen regularly promise customers delivery of products on a timeline that they know is physically impossible to make happen. When this happens, the branch manager blames the office staff , telling the customer that the... office staff dropped the ball. At times , the office staff are even officially reprimanded for not achieving things that the branch manager promised a customer when he full well knew in advance that it was not possible to achieve . Branch managers are always protected by district and regional managers whenever that do unethical and illegal things without question,. Branch managers are also salesmen which makes it impossible to do both jobs well. Branch managers have to sole discretion of managing how company bonuses/incentives are distributed and often break promises of incentives to employees in order to add to their own incentive checks. Branch managers do not appreciate or care for their subordinate employees wellbeing, safety or circumstances. Favoritism runs rampant in favor of employees that alway do exactly what the branch manager says no matter the legal and ethical circumstance may be.

    Advice to Management

Separate the branch manager / salesman position in order to run a better office with a fair environment. District and Regional managers need to question Branch managers about things that are happening in a branch office and ask lower employees what is going on and actually listen to their advice to make a non hostile environment. Branch managers need to be team leaders and seek advice and listen to subordinates... about how to make things run smoothly.
