I worked at Helia Healthcare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly Atmosphere. Residents were Great to know.

    Cons

More work from Cnas and housekeeper s and less argumentative staff would be nice. Cnas curse about or at residents. Housekeepers are lazy and argue about the housekeepers that do bust butt.

    Advice to Management

You are management. Be that! Do what your hired to do, not feel sorry for doing what's best for the residents home.

    Pros

I found nothing positive about this facility.

    Cons

Training was very poor, person was on her phone the entire time. Awful bosses, and management. I would not advise anyone to eat off of their dishes, as food is caked on them even after wash. Employees are aware of that, and still put them away to be eaten off of as if they were clean. Residents become sick constantly because of it. Bosses and employees gossip, and talk about one another on a nonprofessional level (ones sexuality, marital status, weight, personal hygiene, etc). Helia Helthcare of Energy, IL has a very poor, and immature staff. I would not recommend to my worst enemy. Terrible nursing home.

    Advice to Management

Be more diligent on training new employees. Management (bosses, etc.) needs training on communication and understanding. Very, very poor, and immature management.

I worked at Helia Healthcare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Possible to get a promotion; some flexibility of hours if you are in the mgmt area

    Cons

No chain of command supervisory support, compensation too low unless you are a favorite; hours long, take work home, jobs and bosses change suddenly without info to people involved

    Advice to Management

Need current job descriptions for all positions in mgmt company, jobs overloaded, bad mix of duties. Need outside consultant to analyze. Unhappy, bad job market, bills to pay.

I have been working at Helia Healthcare full-time

    Pros

If you are part of the management team you have flexibility in work schedule

    Cons

If you are part of the management team then you are sometimes expected to work past normal business hours. You are also expected to travel at times that isn't so convenient.

    Advice to Management

As they try to assure that their clients are happy they should take a closer look and be certain that the employees are truly happy or at least content in their jobs. Many are unhappy and unable to give 100% and are there because they have families to support and the job market isn't overflowing right now.
