    Pros

    Great training on how to become a great recruiter!

    Cons

    Micro-manage a little too much. Works for some employees, didn't work for me.
    Lack of growth opportunity.
    Comp is below standard.

    Base salary, commission not on draw. cold leads are better than no leads

    Cons

    management with changing ideas and opinions
    regional offices are not collaborative

    Advice to Management

    find better management. Just because someone has been employed for 8+ years does not make them a good leader or manager

    If you're a perfect fit for a client, they put you to work right away

    Cons

    If no client needing your expertise, you're out of luck. It's dead silence.

    Pros

    Built a very strong relationship with my manager (GREAT MENTOR) and stayed with the company only for this reason. In addition, grew as an overall professional within the staffing industry. Great salary and bonus pay outs if you are a "HUSTLER".

    Cons

    Vacation/sick time is always questioned when you put in a PTO request. In-house employees rarely get a whole week off even if PTO time is accrued.
    No room for advancement!
    Longevity beats out PERFORMERS!
    Too many politics!
    Asked for a review and never received one.

    Advice to Management

    Appreciate your performers.

    Pros

    There were some nice employees. The cash bonuses were cool when you hit your numbers.

    Cons

    I came to helpmates as a way to build my recruiting/HR skills. If you are thinking the same thing, stop now. This place is all sales. Finding the best employee for a role is not the objective here. It is playing a numbers game and hoping someone sticks. Sr leadership here is pretty weak. They all have a lot of tenure at the company, and are stuck in their old mindset. Seems like the company used to be successful, but external recruiting has changed, and they are not willing to accept that. This company will never grow. Not sure that leadership even wants to grow. They like their controlled environment, and collecting their paychecks. As a Individual contributor, you never hear of any changes in the company until they are already put in place, and then it is your job to react. That is normal for larger companies, but Helpmates is tiny (around 30 employees). It would be more successful with a flatter organizational structure.

    I played nice and understood the politics here. Stay under the radar and you will be fine. But once leadership does not like you, your days are numbered. There is no Managing up philosophy here, just managing out.

    Build your employees and provide them with opportunities that will keep them engaged.

    -No chance to develop because of high turnover
