I worked at Helzberg Diamonds full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There is nothing positive about working for this company.

    Cons

Harassed by senior associates and bullied by management, this was the worst work experience I've had in over thirty years in the workforce. The commission structure is so that only top sellers who have worked for this dreadful company for years can make any money. They brainwash employees with their "8 steps of selling" and insist on two to three associates on a ticket. I vacuumed and cleaned toilets for $10.50 an hour. When I documented the abuses I experienced and reported them to management and hr, nothing was done. This is a horrible place to work. Don't even think about it.

    Advice to Management

    See above.

I have been working at Helzberg Diamonds full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Nice discount on merchandise
That's about it. Merchandise is priced too high, you only get a deal at Christmas time fyi

    Cons

Low pay= pressure to sell, sell -to get commission
No training at all. People steal sales, people look the other way. Regional manager doesn't care about any issues. Horrible work environment, stay away

    Advice to Management

Train your employees, every store needs someone to take care of the office. Fix the computer system- takes way too long to do simple tasks. Upper management needs a rude awakening . Horrible

    Cons

unreasonable sales plan that are hard to reach, top sales associates are very selfish just think about themselves, corporate treat employees like a number. No ethics at all

    Pros

Had some great sales people, but unfortunately lost them all due to poor management and corporate not reprimanding management.

    Cons

Managers are lazy and unethical. Sit back and have underpaid sales and office associates deal with companies lack of customer service, poorly done repairs and overall poor service. Merchandise is low quality diamonds and has only worsened over the years. Stores interior appearance can't stand up to other competitors. Often hours are documented that managers are working when they clearly are not. Management spends time dealing with personal issues continuously, while on the clock.

    Advice to Management

Think about what kind of people you are placing in yours stores to manage as well as the regionals that are overseeing their progress. Watch security that's in place to oversee the day to day operations.

I have been working at Helzberg Diamonds full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most other employees have been great, str manager has had a hard time finding good people that last but those who are there and have stayed are fantastic.

    Cons

Str manager found out assistant is leaving was going to promote from within (promised the role) then hired from outside and has it promised to the new person without an update to the one it was originally promised to. Rude and unfair.

    Advice to Management

Do not base EVERYTHING on numbers, especially when a lot of the malls are not that busy any longer. Higher commissions with better goals. All the goals that are current are far fetched and just too unrealistic. I would also make it mandatory to hire/promote from within.

    Pros

Great breaks, get to sit down and socialize on company phone and personal cell phones, free promotion jewelry to all employees, free jewelry to people by opening a credit card without approval, don't have to clock out for breaks cause the assistant manager manipulates your time

    Cons

Unethical management team, using and stealing proprietary company information including personal address and credit information to take to future employer, low commission, unprofessional, not American Gem Society quality.

    Advice to Management

Do secret shopping and see how the stores are run...before someone calls the American Gem Society to remove their designation to Helzberg as an American Gem Society store. What a embarrassing endeavor for Warren Buffet and his company Berkshire Hathaway
