    Pros

Competes in competitive categories with sold brands. Makes big bets and not afraid to take on the larger players. Friendly staff.

    Cons

Lots of rework, and last minute request. Long term planning a challenge as strategies change based on latest FX measure or monthly supply chain update on TDC.

    Advice to Management

A ton of turn over in recent period with merger of Sun & Henkel. Mangers on both sides seem to be jumping ship.

I have been working at Henkel full-time

    Pros

    Benefits, Flexible work schedule, shares

    Cons

constantly changing direction, cost cutting has left teams overloaded and way too heavily outsourced.

    Advice to Management

Create a road map and value employees with business knowledge of their functional areas.

I have been working at Henkel full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Average pay, and the people you work with are very nice people. Good 401K options with 8% matching, potential for good end of year bonuses, and stock sharing options. Can have some flexible working hours. A good amount of career growth potential, and they are accepting of you trying different business segments (i.e. sales, manufacturing, supply chain, etc.).

Henkel is very good at hitting it's targets for share holders, so the stock option you can buy into will really make you some money.

    Cons

Henkel is a company who is very tight on money, and is very political from the top down. This turns into major lack of resoucing (people) and puts too much work on everybody's plate. This burns people out, and can create an environment where nothing actually gets done.

Too many generals (managers) and not enough soldiers (independent contributors).
Way too many procedures and red tape to go through to actually do something. Germany has to approve much of what happens, which makes everything a slow process.

Low raises and overworked leads to high turnover.

    Advice to Management

Let the regional leaders make the decisions for that region, that's what you hired them to do. Germany does not need to fully control every decision. You do well promoting career growth, but consider better raises for top performers. Higher raises for top performers drastically improves your chances of talent retention. The few thousand $$$ that you save by skimping on raises will easily be <5% of what it costs to hire a new person, train them, and get them to the level of a top performer.

Also, the manufacturing well is running very dry. If you want to continue to cut costs in order to drive profit, consider looking at business dinners.

    Pros

Good products and very strong Loctite brand.

    Cons

The adhesives division is being managed as a cash cow with little or no investment in employee automation tools or improvements in manufacturing operations.

    Advice to Management

Take a hard look as to why block costs have been such a challenge since 2013.

Henkel cost structure looks globally and is driven by a low cost shared service approach to non-core business needs.
