    Cons

Company is extremely old fashioned and out of touch with their employees. Constantly lie and mislead. They lay people off like crazy too

    Advice to Management

Get out of the 1990s and actually care about your people

I have been working at Henry Schein full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Stable work
    Good Pay
Good Comp, 401k, health Care and management

    Cons

Corporate cares little beyond share holders
Corporate separate from the rest of the company "You literally can not go up the stairs where the corporate offices are, you will get in trouble."
Corporate does not listen to their own requests for information.
Any aversion to the "line" will be silenced quickly.

    Advice to Management

I have been trying for years to better myself for this company. 2 College degrees obtained during my time here, several certifications all towards business and management. I have even written letters "not just emails" but letters to corporate staff asking for mentor-ships. I has asked for action plans of what I need to do in order to reach my potential. The letters, emails, actual face to face sit down meeting with Steve Miles, has all been thrown out. I have worked hard for you and have asked, not for a hand out, but for what I can do to better myself for you. I have worked for years actually getting education and implimenting that even offering to work overseas and move for this company and nothing has ever come back in any positive. On apply to a job, I have gotten misspelled emails telling me "AFTER THE JOB WAS FILLED" that I wasn't eligible. This only because I was watching and reached out to the ZOM to find out what happened! Either that or a form rejection letter telling you "So sorry, good bye." Nothing that is constructive or useful for a person who wants to do the best they can and help this company. It hurts me to see this company say they care and then just ignore those who volunteer for all events without pay and do everything they can to be a team player.

I worked at Henry Schein full-time

    Pros

I cannot find 1 redeeming quality. Oh wait cake- they sometimes have cake in the break rooms (left over from a party you weren’t invited to) If you don’t like cake then it’s not a “Pro”
In all fairness there are a few managers that are excellent but they are probably not in the department you are applying for because their staff actually stays and doesn’t turn over.

    Cons

The culture they sell is a bold face lie- don’t buy it.
The company is run by all male former accountants (not sure if that’s good or bad- good if your a male accountant / bad if your female).
Medical is a hot mess- no one is on the same page ever and everyone pretty much dislikes everyone else
Most middle and upper management has been there 10-25 years and they have not developed any current skills in technology, management or leadership theories
Career Development- what’s that? Do not come here if you actually plan to learn anything or advance in your career. It will just not happen and in fact, you will look crazy for even having such an expectation.
Do not waste your time there- you will devalue yourself in the marketplace and you will not learn any cutting edge skills on any level.

    Advice to Management

Quit- you’ve been there too long. This company is inhibiting it’s own growth and development due to its own ignorance.
