I have been working at Herbalife (More than a year)

    Pros

this is a good place to learn a new job or maybe even learn a new skill if you are new out of school.

    Cons

this place isnt good if you are coming in with management experience trying to move up in the company quickly.

    Advice to Management

The management staff is still learning how to run a business. They let great people go while holiding on to new great looking females.

I worked at Herbalife as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Had a nice cafe for lunch, plenty of parking. Great opportunity to people who want to be company men. Access to product for free. Sampling of new products was exciting.

    Cons

Very negative place to work with unhappy people. Contract employees do not get any benefits or good treatment despite working full time. No concept of ownership for one's work.

    Advice to Management

Take charge by being nice to people, not bully. Treat contract employees as equally as hired employees. Do not encourage bad behavior in your teams when you see it happen in the workplace.

    Cons

It's a pyramid scheme. So you have to put a lot of work in at the bottom to climb up.

I worked at Herbalife full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you want a job where you can "phone it in" and show up at 9:10 and leave at 4:59, then this is it. Free shakes and supplements.

    Cons

Death by meetings, lack of innovation, people scared to solve problems due to managers and senior managers business as usual attitude, lack of follow through from management, poor training, and an overall broken communication through the company. I vowed to never use the word "urgent" here because everyone is so disorganized that when problems arise on a daily basis, they become 5 alarm fire emergencies - everyday tasks should not be urgent everyday, but for Herbalife that's normal.

    Advice to Management

Let people solve problems, stop letting people go, don't let personal preference of long time employees be reason to get rid of new people with fresh ideas.

I worked at Herbalife as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

It is a decent company to work for but a lot need to be changed first starting with management

    Cons

No work-life balance whatsoever, favoritism, backstabbing, politics, arrogance and ignorance of the managers just to name a few

    Advice to Management

Recognition for all the hard work employees put in. Development of better work-life balance, workload reduction because only when your employees are happy and not burned out productivity increases

    I worked at Herbalife full-time

    Pros

Reasonable hours. Ok pay, not great but not insulting. Non-management people are hardworking, dedicated, and talented.

    Cons

Uninformed and unorganized middle management. Little to no room for advancement, unless you happen to be friends with one of those managers. Company tends to be embroiled in controversy - google it for yourself.

    Advice to Management

Clean house in the middle. But they'll never do it. Middle managers are dug in deep.

I have been working at Herbalife full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very international company with operations in 88 countries. Good exposure to other countries and cultures.

    Cons

Lots and lots of uncompensated overtime which seems to be the criteria for promotions. Experience gained at Herbalife may not be easily transferrable because of the unique business model and outdated business practices. Quality of corporate staff is weak in comparison to other companies of similar size in the Los Angeles area.

    Advice to Management

Internal systems and processes are very outdated compared to other companies in the Los Angeles area. HR department could be improved.
