I worked at Hercules Offshore (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Enjoyed working with operations and customers to gather all necessary information to complete billings in a timely manner.

    Cons

Due to down turn of oilfield many of the vessels were stacked, therefore, positions were eliminated.

I worked at Hercules Offshore (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good pace. Never micromanaged. Know for family values

    Cons

Narrow minded executives with no long term strategy to improve market penetration.

    Advice to Management

Assets are way to old and they cost a fortune in maintenance. If they come out of this bankruptcy, sell, sell, sell!

    Pros

Steady work, good benefits. Company worked with you for the most part when you needed them.

    Cons

Liftboat division carried drilling division but still got less perks. Sold liftboat division. didn't care about employees as much as they made it seem.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of higher ups taking all the money and not doing anything productive with it

I worked at Hercules Offshore full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Hercules at least will not make high demands before expecting a full commitment on writing JSA's, Work Permits, Crane Inspections and other forms of documentation.

    Cons

A lot of special treatment for certain personnel. They don't train well on the job.

    Advice to Management

At least give the mates some experience that is not job related before expecting them to break out.

    Pros

In the European sector, the Triumph rig is very modern with the best drilling equipment available. The Highlander which will work in Europe is also high spec.

    Cons

They have hired a rig management who get things done through fear rather than mutual respect. People who were previously established with Hercules have been replaced with those who worked with the new management on previous rigs, predominantly from Northern Offshore and Prospector Drilling.

    Advice to Management

Advise rig level management to stop firing people to make way for their friends and previous colleagues. It is no coincidence that all who are being hired in the European sector have strong links to Northern Offshore and Prospector drilling.

I worked at Hercules Offshore full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Allows independance
    Great diversified group of personell

    Cons

    Lacks leadership
Business falling under the crack of poor management decisions

    Advice to Management

Change management. This is happening as I write this. Focus on direction too small to compete with other larger Drilling companies hence loss of contracts in competitive downturn
