I have been working at Hermes part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's pretty flexible and can fit around other commitments. I can plan my deliveries to suit my timetable. My field manager is very friendly and supportive and the other couriers are encouraging and generous with advice for newbies. There are some fuel, insurance and other discounts available.

    Cons

It is what it is, which is a courier job. The pay isn't great and it can feel like drudgery at times. You don't get paid for time spent organizing your parcels into delivery order, although this takes about an hour to do. It's not for everyone.

    Pros

I have been in parcels for 20+ years and Hermes has the best induction in the industry. It was over a 4 week period, spent time at other depots and departments. Clear and concise direction as to what is needed from you with autonomy to make your own decisions. It has been a great experience to date.

I have been working at Hermes full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I decided to join Hermes after reviewing and comparing against similar Logistics and Parcels company. I looked at the current performance and also the 5 year strategy before deciding. I also spoke to current and former employees to gain an insight in the culture and values of the business and gained some real positive feedback. The first test was when I was interviewed for the role that I accepted, I was really impressed that the interviewers were really interested in what I would bring to the table as well as listening to me and thoughts on what I expected from the company. Even though I joined at the crucial xmas times my induction was seamless. I feel I am able to influence change in the business and people are always open to new ways of working. I would recommend anyone to join Hermes if they want a company who is growing at a rapid rate in what will be an exciting future in truly establishing themselves as the No 1 parcel delivery company in the UK.

    Cons

None in the first year that I have worked here

    Advice to Management

Sekk the best people in the UK to ensure that the company keeps growing
