I have been working at Herrero Contractors full-time

    Pros

The company is relatively small in terms of construction. They are currently working on Van Ness And Geary Hospital Project. Other jobs include Miscellaneous work for CPMC, with outliers such as Air B&B.
    Health Benefits
    Knowledge Area Leaders
    Strong company Culture

    Cons

Hospital Industry Specific. During the summer years Herrero is able to pick up a good amount of hospital work. Just be prepared for dealing with OSHPD.

    Advice to Management

Direction of the company seems a little two fold. Currently the job market is at what appears to be a strong cycle. Would like to know what jobs we have picked up besides CPMC jobs.

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

It is a small company and should be in the process of growing.
    Company BBQ's once a month.
    Learn about LEAN business practices.
Lots of bright, friendly, and competent people to work with.

    Cons

Small company that thinks they are better than others in their field.
Lack of communication in areas that are important.
    Poor management.
Taking time to teach improving communication, but on their end they do not follow through.
Key employees are to busy to take the time to resolve issues.
Transferring of information is always an issue - employees take a long time to get back to you.

    Advice to Management

Take responsibility for not getting the job done.
Be available to employees when they need information from you.
Use LEAN management not only talk about it.

    Cons

Project I was on was huge so it was very discretized and I ended up doing too much submittal stuff
