I worked at Hershey Entertainment part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Hershey Entertainment and resorts is a very large company. There are a lot of job opportunities. I enjoyed the people that I worked with and the environment ..

    Cons

The schedule for a banquet server can be extreme. Sometimes there is more work then you think you can handle, but you do and then there are times that you will have no work at all.

I worked at Hershey Entertainment part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Scheduling department was very flexible if you submitted requests on time. Provided many learning experiences that prove to be valuable after college. Co workers made the days better and more enjoyable.

    Cons

LONG HOURS if you are over 18 and do not request to work doubles. They will work you for every hour they can get. No overtime pay because it's seasonal work. Corners are cut when fixing things and many stands lack the proper equipment because they do not want to spend money on replacing items. Area managers like to micro manage when they aren't around for everyday operations. This causes conflict and reduces morale. Promotion structure is based around favoritism and not employee work ethic. I would not work here again.

    Advice to Management

Less micro managing, and a better promotion structure. Employees are worked like slaves with no overtime pay and in some cases terrible environments. Improve training, and especially child labor training to protect young workers and their supervisors.

I worked at Hershey Entertainment full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fun working environment interacting with guests in a fast paced environment. Good benefits, paid time off, beautiful property and nice discounts from the Hershey Corp.

    Cons

Spa never closes, so it's open 365 days a year and expect to work holidays. There aren't too many negative aspects of working for HERCO.

    Advice to Management

    I have no advice.

    Pros

It was a great experience worked with awesome people. It's a pretty relaxed job. Also you get free tickets for Hershey park and you get in for free.

    Cons

Working in the hot/cold weather. Or even customers with attitudes. But other than that there's not too many bad things to say.

    Pros

Decent pay for an entry level job after including free park tickets. Most of the managers were good.

    Cons

Sometimes the hours aren't very good. In the finance department you sometimes have to work overnight. Switching from night shift to day shift every week or two weeks isn't very fun.

    Advice to Management

Develop a better way to handle the shifts.

    Advice to Management

make sure your employees can leave on time every time instead of holding them for hours past their clock out time
