I worked at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts part-time

    Pros

Hershey is very flexible with scheduling and it was a nice first job experience.

    Cons

Everyone tells you different things on how to do your job and it’s hard to do the “correct” thing to please everyone in management.

    Advice to Management

Be more organized with how you train people so no ones confused on what exactly you want them to do.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Colleagues are friendly and will often lend a hand. Providing recommendations is fairly straightforward with the comprehensive guides made by the other concierge. Concierge tasks are fairly regular: selling park tickets, providing transportation, scheduling room service.

    Cons

The work can be stressful during peak hours. Customers will often contact you first when there is a problem with their experience. Your ability to do your job outside of regular task will heavily depend on building relationships with the other staff, and that may take some time. Guests will make requests that depend on other departments and their ability to free up often unavailable resources.

I worked at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Easy, get to know great people, a lot of good benefits like discounts in the park, free admission for yourself, tickets for friends, and even late night park parties where it's just employees in the park

    Cons

Not the best paid, does get very hot, traffic can get bad especially during concerts

I worked at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

as many hours as you could ever want (cap at 70 a week but there are ways to work around it) promoted as soon as they figure out you have common sense freedom from managers breathing down neck

    Cons

they hire anyone with a pulse managers are required to train new hires, some of which are in middle school. it is demeaning to the supervisor to have to babysit and not get paid well

    Advice to Management

take it easy on the supervisors. not everyone is going to be working here their whole lives. it’s just not that serious.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free tickets? But trust me, you will get sick of the park after a bit.

    Cons

Do you like being screwed over. Moved around and paid less than everyone? That's the usher job. The 2 main supervisors lie constantly and the job is just awful. Security gets paid more and ushers do some of the same jobs. Ushers and security are 2 quite different job descriptions. Bot to mention the elevators. Sit in a box. If you are a favorite, you are fine. But if not, watch out.

    Advice to Management

Actually rotate the positions. Pay the ushers more. And get new lead supervisors.
