I worked at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Being a games clerk was great. I worked in the arcade and the job was pretty simple. You hand out prizes, do some light cleaning, hand out change, and help guests. Great place to work for a first job. You also get a 50 cent raise each year you return.

    Cons

The pay is the bare minimum. If you want a high paying job, don't work here.

I have been working at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Reciprocal Program, Networking, Build Great Life Skills

    Cons

    Work/Life Balance, Weekend Hours, Compensation

    Advice to Management

Give Area Managers at Hersheypark the opportunity to work weekends on a rotating basis, or work one day of the weekend (Saturday or Sunday). We have lives too, and trying to establish a relationship or build a family with constant weekend commitment is difficult. Area Managers should also get overtime pay for the ridiculous time they put in during May and August when seasonal employees a just returning/leaving for school.

I have been working at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts (More than 10 years)

    Pros

End up with the property and team and it's like a 2nd family

    Cons

Fun and camaraderie depend on the property you are at, some properties are not so good

    Advice to Management

Do not assume all full time Supervisors are treating their full time reports with respect, or growing them professionally. More often than not they have one face for their boss and upper management, and another face for their direct report(s).

I have been working at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Definitely have the benefit of working with some great coworkers. The company has a great moto to live by, and I really enjoy being able to support the Milton Hershey School. My work environment is clean and management is decent as long as you're content with where you are in your position. I definitely feel as if I have grown with this company and I would recommend it to others.

    Cons

management is more consumed and concerned about the product than their workers. little room to advance from my current position.

    Advice to Management

Try to focus on how your employees feel. If you wouldn't want to be pushed passed your mental capability, why would they want to?

    Cons

My one con that i have is that during the summer it was really hot and they didnt have any air conditioning so it made it hot

    Advice to Management

Maybe within the next couple years invest in some air conditioning since the only time youre open is in the summer
