I worked at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good discounts and free entry to the park
At the hotel they also provide a free meal during your shift

    Cons

Wage isn't as bad as other hotels but for the amount of work you do and how much they charge for a room they could afford to treat housekeeping staff better and compensate better.
The company itself is so greedy. They could afford to pay more to retain good staff. Milton would be ashamed of some of the things going on in the department. And they just promoted someone who is very condescending and rude.

    Advice to Management

Give staff more time to clean rooms. Reward the good employees and retrain staff that doesn't meet the standards.

I have been working at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent resume builder tons of variety and experience working with every piece of the accounting process.
You have access to executive level employees

    Cons

Slow to no advancement for promotion
The position is undervalued therefore you will not be earning as much money as you should

    Advice to Management

When you ask current employees how you can make their job better actually take the steps to make their job better. It is insulting and a waste of time to continuously have meetings when nothing is going to change.

I have been working at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Reciprocal Program, Networking, Build Great Life Skills

    Cons

    Work/Life Balance, Weekend Hours, Compensation

    Advice to Management

Give Area Managers at Hersheypark the opportunity to work weekends on a rotating basis, or work one day of the weekend (Saturday or Sunday). We have lives too, and trying to establish a relationship or build a family with constant weekend commitment is difficult. Area Managers should also get overtime pay for the ridiculous time they put in during May and August when seasonal employees a just returning/leaving for school.

Do not assume all full time Supervisors are treating their full time reports with respect, or growing them professionally. More often than not they have one face for their boss and upper management, and another face for their direct report(s).
