I have been working at Hertz full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Time, especially on the car sales side... A regular dealership will work you 60-70 hours a week here my sales staff works 40 hrs/week

    Cons

Way to many audits, reports. Hertz is also slow to hire, just slow on everything because everything has to be put in as request. We need to speed up the process

I worked at Hertz full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

No pros other than meeting new people

    Cons

    Everything
Working from open to close daily
    No lunch breaks
Wash, deliver, and rent cars by yourself a lot of times

    Advice to Management

Stop being so money hungry and actually care for your employees. If someone hits numbers 3 months in a row then dosent hit them the 4 th they shouldn't get written up especially if the entire area missed there numbers! Management is HORRIBLE!

    Pros

Worked with a great group of people!

    Cons

Expect to put in a lot of hours. There is rarely any positive critiques provided by management. Under-staffed.

    Advice to Management

Don't always focus on the aspects of the job that employees need improvement in; also acknowledge positive points of employees.

    Pros

-Lots of opportunity for hours especially overtime

    Cons

-Hours- They will tell you the hours are 8-5 M-F but that is a lie. Most locations are 7:30-6 pm M-F and Saturday 9-12.
    - Pay is a joke ($10.50/hr)
-They will move you to new work locations with out thinking or asking you first
-Upper management is a bunch of skeeves that hit on you and blow cigarette smoke in your face thinking its attractive.
    -High turnover rate
-After you quit, you will NEVER SEE YOUR RETRO PAY!

    My Story:
I applied and quickly accepted the job at Hertz as an MT thinking the hours were typical 8-5 and knowing the pay was so so. After training without telling me, they moved me to a new work location that was never discussed and happened to be almost an hour from my home. Where the training location was 5 minutes. Realizing this was not the path for me I quit after a month. During my month of employment, we were all given a pay raise of 1 dollar making the wage $11.50/hr. I have yet to see a dime of that pay raise. I have contacted the company multiple times and they all pass me to the next person saying Ill get my pay eventually. It has been 3 months and I have yet to receive my money. Which totals to almost $300 in retro pay they owe me. I could take them to court, but it would cost me more in court fees that I am owed and they know that. Horrible company that I am sure to never do business with in the future. Good luck to anyone else who falls into their trap, its not worth it!!

    Advice to Management

Don't lie during the interview process about the hours, pay and location and you will be able to actually retain employees.

    Pros

Great group of coworkers and most management is open and available to help with scheduling and problem solving to make it easy for the customer service reps. Commission okay.

    Cons

Not enough fleet for the Volume on peak busy days there is a shortage of inventory and chaos which effects earning commission

    Advice to Management

Have a clear and conscise plan of action and follow it. More fleet and consistency and better commission payouts and SRPD goals for reps

opportunity to ring the till daily and create value for entire team.

    Cons

i had four different bosses each with a different objective for me...and one of them laid me off. everyone should know exactly who their one boss is, and exactly what your individual and collective objective is. not so at HERC.

    Advice to Management

get your organization chart squared away. provide authorization to employees that equals their responsibilities.
