I worked at Hertz full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

3 weeks vacation. Decent pay. Clean bathrooms. Decent food options in the cafeteria. Easy to listen in on your coworkers personal conversations since there is no privacy.

    Cons

Massive turnover. Sickeningly bad moral. Zero privacy. Zero advancement. Zero communication. Management in all departments are completely out of touch, but hey become one of the 300 senior directors and you get a free Mercedes.

    Advice to Management

Get a clue. Everyone is miserable.

I worked at Hertz (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The company is attempting to re-create the culture with a new HQ in Florida - working hard to provide good perks.

    Cons

Multiple sets of executive leaders trying to take the company in different directions. No solid focus or communication. They have lost their focus on the customer and how the employees make or break the company and the customer experience.

    Advice to Management

Focus on the field and delivering the best service possible leveraging technology and avoid charging customers for every little thing. Make it easy and reasonable or the customers will continue to walk away. Focus on what your front line field employees can do for the customer and what the HQ employees can do to support the field.

I worked at Hertz full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Lot's of great people who work there --- folks who have given 10-15-20 years of their careers but are at the mercy of the 5th floor executives

    Cons

Poor customer service, IT platforms out dated.... no bonus payouts in years, executives getting rich while everyone else worries if today the day they get laid off-- Never seen so many VP's in any company...

    Advice to Management

go back to the Airlines --- it should not take this long to fix the mess created by former CEO

I have been working at Hertz full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are very challenging tasks to be accomplished, especially within the finance organization. But this is being done with competent and hard working people working together so it provides for an excellent learning opportunity and a chance to really build your professional network.

    Cons

Due to the turn-around environment, 9 - 5 is currently a difficult reality here. But mgt recognizes hard work with both compensation and time off.
