I have been working at Hertz full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Growth potential and equal opportunity employer. Bonus potential for product sales. No micro managing. Some order pecks and benefits like free car, gas and no toll charges.

    Cons

High employee turn around and too much work loads per person. No adequate training and pay without bonus in the case of inability to sell is nothing.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to train and keep ur employees

I worked at Hertz full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Developing your employees. Team atmosphere. Working together with your peers. Health benefits

    Cons

Locally Houston upper management has dramatically declined. The leadership in Houston leaves much to be desired. Most of the branch managers and assistant managers get little to no support from the general manager. They basically work in fear and most were actively looking for other employment. Hertz within the last two years in Houston has taken a drastic turn for the worse. Once was a great market but now it's drowning and employee morale is all time low.

    Advice to Management

Look at the upper management and make a change fast. Talk to your managers. The lack of real leadership and transparency is unfortunate.

I have been working at Hertz full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free car and free gas. Typically upper management are real down to earth people. You will enjoy the job for the most part if you don't mind customer service.

    Cons

Bonus structure is always changing, that's where you make most of your money.
    Most locations are understaffed

    Advice to Management

Hire more people and have a better bonus compensation or raise the salaries

I worked at Hertz full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The best thing about working there was the monthly bonus. Meeting the different customers from all over the world. It's a union job so definitely utilize their help

    Cons

The management at Bush Airport in Houston, TX are the worst. They don't care about the employees just how much money you can make them. They smile in your face and stab you in the back

    Advice to Management

Stop being so money hungry. You bring good, strong people into your company just to tear them down

    I worked at Hertz full-time

    Pros

Free car, free gas, make your own schedule once you get to the Branch Manager level.

    Cons

The pay is almost laughable if you don't make a bonus which they change and manipulate almost every quarter. Then they garnish or hold your bonus until they can "Calculate the financials" which are always wrong. The company is not doing well financially and are laying people off. Beware! Stay away from this company.

    Advice to Management

    Pay your employees
    Fix your financial problems
Never sacrifice integrity for profits/revenue; it doesn't work
Allow African Americans to get past the area manager level
