I have been working at Hertz full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Cars for managers, don't have to pay for gas or insurance

    Cons

Constant changes to bonus structure to fit the needs of the company. Will nickle and dime you out of bonuses. Can be very stressful if you don't have cars on your lot

    Advice to Management

Higher pay would lead to less turnover. Employee morale is down due to employees feeling underappreciated.

I have been working at Hertz full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

PTO and Promotions. Global Company. Some bright people in charge. Like direction of new ceo by putting customers first. A+

    Cons

Lots of Hours. Long Days. Mostly 7 Day Work Weeks. Poor work/life balance almost expected at smaller location. Can be bottleneck after several promotions.

    Advice to Management

    Small Markets Need Love Too

I have been working at Hertz (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay is decent. If you are female, they make sure you succeed. Constantly busy with State Farm claims and dealership replacements.

    Cons

They hire people with very little skills. Focus too much on numbers to promotion, hard work does not matter. Poor management. Do not value employees. If you are male, you will wash cars 85% of your day.

    Advice to Management

Take a step back and look at things from another angle. I promise you will see the problems.

    Pros

I worked at Hertz (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible hours when you get to AM, company car.

    Cons

Very much a corporate America career. Hourly employees will have to work 10-15 hours of overtime just to make decent pay for an entry level position. The salary for management is not as high as it should be but is supposed to be made up by a company car, insurance, and “bonus.” Bonuses typically are months late and are barely rewarding at all. Furthermore, if you make a mistake, Hertz will screw you as much as they possibly can, no matter how long you were an employee there.

    Advice to Management

Pay your people more, and have the people’s backs who dedicated years of service through the good times and the bad. Completely restructure the bonus incentive as it sucks and doesn’t reward areas that are larger in volume. i.e, 20% growth in a smaller market should be the same payout as 20% growth of a large market.

I worked at Hertz full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None. Managers treat employees like slaves, lot of rotation and make it long to move you up as a branch manager.

    Cons

Everthing. Lazy managers who talk bad about the company all the time. Company does not care about their employees, low pay, heavy work.
