    Pros

Training program prepares you to run your own branch in as little as 18 months. Branch Managers are provided a company vehicle, with no fuel or insurance cost to them.

    Cons

Locations are for the most under staffed, so you will be multi-tasking all day long, customer reservations, walk in customers, phones inquires, inspecting vehicle returns, processing insurance claim rentals, washing & vacuuming vehicles, and the best part of your day, IRATE CUSTOMERS EVERY DAY !!!!!

    Advice to Management

Staff your locations properly and you would have less turn over !!!

I have been working at Hertz full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Tremendous amount of growth potential for driven individuals in HLE. The division is making a big push to improve development opportunities for Manager Trainees moving up. There aren't many companies that will advance top performers so quickly making this a great place to build a long term career

    Cons

The fast paced environment can be a con if you look at it that way. There are a lot of changes in the company that keep you on your toes, but they seem to be very positive lately.

    Advice to Management

Keep investing in employees and technology like we've recently seen. Most of the current employees are very dedicated and really driven to push for the company's success.

I worked at Hertz full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great colleagues, good resume builder out of college, benefits, learn how to handle situations in a high stress environment, multitasking

    Cons

Long hours, no balance between personal life and work, understaffed, under appreciated, no support from upper management, pay is not reflected right with the amount of work you do daily

    Advice to Management

Learn to retain talent and invest in the youth who are committed to the company.

    Pros

They work well with developing lower management and promoting, moving as soon as you're ready.
If you're willing to travel the this is the job for you!

    Cons

-Unions will destroy your ability to manage and do your job.
-The LM's are overworked and underpaid, but its a stepping stone position

    Advice to Management

-Prepare for long hours as a LM 1
-Don't dress in the uniform, wear nice clothes always
-The pay is LOL but it's a stepping stone to a much better position
-Do not wait to be promoted, actively work towards it and keep applying

I have been working at Hertz full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Cars for managers, don't have to pay for gas or insurance

    Cons

Constant changes to bonus structure to fit the needs of the company. Will nickle and dime you out of bonuses. Can be very stressful if you don't have cars on your lot

    Advice to Management

Higher pay would lead to less turnover. Employee morale is down due to employees feeling underappreciated.

    I worked at Hertz full-time

    Pros

Coworkers were like family. Company has great motivational training's throughout the time you are there. Bonus checks keep you wanting more.

    Cons

Pay sucks. The people you deal with everyday are straight out of hell. The dealerships you create relationships with lack loyalty. Upper management lacks loyalty when it comes to their employees. Long work hours with little help. Job is fast pace oriented but too much emphasis on fast.

    Advice to Management

Security is needed for every branch. Every branch needs more than 2 front desk workers and a porter. Employees need more paid vacation time than given. Focus on your employees a little more and listen to what they have to say. The customer is NOT always right.

I worked at Hertz full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

great brand new corporate headquarters building - parking, onsite gym, cafeteria, day care center, etc. Open office environment. There were quite a few intelligent people.

    Cons

No company leadership, constant politics, overall terribly run. Employee morale was in the dumps from the beginning, then things just kept getting worse. No strategy, constant change and none of it based in strategy. Basically everyone is chasing their tales with no vision or commitment to the future, or their employees.

    Advice to Management

Take better care of your employees - lead by example, and be honest.

I worked at Hertz full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Driving new cars, a decent training program, and that's really it

    Cons

The location had issues when it came to staffing so they werent able to train me to become Manager of any branch as promised. The salary was not even close to what was mentioned. The local branch that I was homed in was so toxic that no one seemed to even care. Just a total lack of communication. Getting blamed for nothing your fault.

    Advice to Management

Fix the Branches. Make it more like Enterprise. Make the reservations system more customer friendly. Make it so that the Managers including Area Managers go to different branches to see how's things are going and to go over things in need. Fix the whole system. Stock price indicates failure. Loss of EPS same thing.
