I worked at Hertz full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Real potential for advancement, well-rounded experience, team oriented environment, and coworkers become “family.”

    Cons

Starting pay is really low and it takes a lot of work to hit your sales goal while the bonus schedule is confusing. Also, dressing up in professional attire and having to clean cars in them before going on sales calls is discouraging.

    Advice to Management

Increase pay for MTs as they do the most work, and have separate (non-managerial) staff cleaning cars.

I have been working at Hertz full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great entry level management experience. Can quickly complete training for a raise and qualify for quarterly bonuses based on team performance. The upper management team seem to facilitate your movement up the company. Everyone I met were extremely helpful and great to work with.

    Cons

Seems like the entire customer facing operation of the company is unorganized with very few systems set in place to consistently obtain the same result. This creates additional unnecessary challenges when dealing with customers. Huge inconvenience when customers are able to book cars same day when operation fleet is low, it is difficult to obtain cars to rent on time and creates unhappy clients. Needs improvement in logistics.

    Advice to Management

    None

I have been working at Hertz full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get to work with some excellent employees and really get to know the customers.

    Cons

You work extremely long hours, most days are 11 hour days. The company focuses too much on sales instead of on customer service.

    Advice to Management

Focus on sales more than customer service. Pay these college graduates more money. They do a lot of work and you don't take into account how much work they do for the amount of money you pay them.

I have been working at Hertz full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Meet interesting co-workers and customers.
Learn about and Drive different vehicles
Discount for rentals and other companies
Selling, get bonus every month only if you make your numbers
    Get paid every week
    Plenty of overtime
Great experience to learn and be in management for other future jobs not with hertz

    Cons

    No organization
    Lack of communication
    High turnover
    No work/life balance
Constantly in location by yourself anything can happen to you and no one would know
At times your the only employee in location swamped with customers
Not given the tools needed to ensure the job is done properly
Unable to finish my long page of training
Dealing with nasty insurance customers and the insurance companies
Higher ups refuse to hire the help you need
Working long hours 8-6 and sometimes with no lunch due to lack of employees and there are many times you are there longer
Cleaning nasty vehicles in all weather without carport
Doing the work of 5 people and your the only one
Is very overwhelming for the bad pay (which truly is not worth the aggravation)
Type of employment you would only get if you didn't have a family or going to school full time
Completely not what you expect due to the workload overwhelming and exhausting you due to lack of employees, it truly is not what you expect

That is why I am currently looking for work elsewhere because of the lack of employees, no work life balance, low pay for all the work I do

    Advice to Management

Stop being cheap and hire more people to help with the workload. One person can not do it all.

I have been working at Hertz full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The hours of operation are good and insight on various vehicles is a plus.

    Cons

Long hours, no cars, short staff, insufficient resources, over worked, under paid, and inconsistent policies.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to what customers are complaining about and fix those issues within the company. Stop being "greedy" and allowing customers to book reservations when we don't have cars! If you know your biggest contract is high demand, get more cars in the fleet!

I worked at Hertz full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Overtime and getting paid on time.

    Cons

Management removed commission from position without permission. Management does not properly supply locations with cars and makes you rush to "put out fires" in order to supply last-minute reservations.
They make you clean cars in a suit, they do not supply clean rags, they do not provide security, computers are dated, programs are complicated, and the sales service encourages harassing clients that do not come in for pick up from insurance claims.
Company is set up for failure / sale.

    Advice to Management

Simplify the booking system, hire someone to clean the cars or give a pay raise due to all the professional clothes that have to be cleaned daily, keep locations properly supplied, and DO NOT GIVE FALSE PROMISES.

    Pros

It's shows you the correct way to run a business and many career opportunities within the company. But a great learning experience.

    Cons

You don't make any real money until you're at Branch Manager level. You have a lot of responsibility for little pay/reward.

    Advice to Management

    Be able to multitask

    Pros

    Good pay. Friendly co-worker.

    Cons

Hand washing cars in 80 degree weather, company needs improvement with communication with branches, always a shortage of vehicles which means angry customers. Doing the jobs of 3 individuals for the price of 1

    Advice to Management

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Focus on continuous training and support for new and existing employees.
