I worked at Hertz part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to work the people were wonderful.
I enjoyed working with all management and employees

    Cons

Time Clock was out of date. Needs to have a system that is current. Hertz makes to much money
not to have a system in place that is digital. And we needed to

    Advice to Management

Management was very professional I didn't have a problem at all. Oakland airport location.

I worked at Hertz full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The health insurance was really good for vision and easy to find health networks. You get a lot of training and help with your sales. Major holidays off.

    Cons

Co-workers will compete with you on sales and it can get very ruthless. People with poor work ethics but good numbers in sales move up quickly. Always a struggle to get cars for high demand with little help from other branches. Branches have a negative enviorment, feels like everyone only out for themselves

    Advice to Management

Do not promote people based on sales only, their poor work ethic comes out to the customers and shops you work with.

I have been working at Hertz full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

New cars to drive, plenty of training available in many business aspects, classroom and online. coworkers are respectful. Plenty of promotional opportunity with the willingness to move. 401k, Health benefits are decent, lots of company associated discounts

    Cons

long hours, goals and targets are not clear or are moving. Union environment divides local managers and hourly employees. too many conference calls, and spreadsheets. Define insanity - doing the same thing over and over and expecting different or better results. Try some new tactics, especially fleet logistics. Integration of Dollar Thrifty has been rocky. Hiring process is slow

    Advice to Management

Ask for truth and listen to the answers.
When you see the 'little guy' talk to them, don't hide behind body guards

    Pros

You learn a lot from working long hours. The skills you gain from this looks great on your resume and will get you recognized by future employers.

    Cons

They do not pay you for how hard you have to work and how stressful the job is. Not much feedback from upper management.

    Advice to Management

Please pay the management trainees more. We work very hard but never recognized. Maybe you all should watch Undercover Boss and learn a thing or two.
