I have been working at Hertz full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    * Believe in promoting from within
    * Great tenure among the employees that have grown within the company
    * Improved focus on customers and customer service
    * Top Notch vehicles in the fleet
    * Great learning and growth opportunities offered online and through classroom
       trainings

    Cons

    * Due to peak business needs, actions tend to be reactive rather than pro-active (improvement and plans have started) and create a burden on existing staff.
    * Re-Establishing company identity after the relocation.

    Advice to Management

Great changes have started to happen. There should be more transparency along the way to promote greater engagement.

I worked at Hertz full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I worked in the eCommerce group. Couldn't ask for a better team of colleagues to work with.

    Cons

In my last 3 years there senior management made a lot of bad decisions which resulted in a complete change in the c level suite.
In an effort to save money all IT functions including eCommerce were outsourced to IBM.

I worked at Hertz full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Large corporation with perks that include cheap car rental, paid time off, and at their headquarters a nice cafeteria and fitness facility.

    Cons

Was not encouraged to grow within or beyond my position. Pay is not commensurate with work load. VPs and CEO are extremely out of touch with associates and theor work.

    Advice to Management

Give employees the bigger picture of what the company is trying to accomplish to foster a sense of teamwork among them. Encourage growth within the company. Provide constructive and positive feedback.

I worked at Hertz full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice people. Good brand recognition. Great discounts on rentals. Comfortable work place and not too stressful.

    Cons

Hard to move up. Lots of legacy people in place. Innovation comes slowly. Lots of meetings. SDLC process somewhat immature.

    Advice to Management

Target clientele are business and older renters. But what's the next wave of customers going to be? Innovate and accelerate or else talent will work elsewhere.

    Pros

Only thing I can think of is the pay check never bounced.

    Cons

Zero life/work balance, unpaid overtime, 50 - 60 hours per week - more during month end close. Glad I left, they are now outsourcing the insurance claims dept (HCM).

    Advice to Management

Now that the stock has tanked, I think they are looking to sell the company. They already got rid of HERC.
