I have been working at Hertz full-time

    Pros

Great coworkers, decent pay, some OT and the opportunity to hone your sales techniques along with customer service skills. It really depends on who you work with and how well your manager wants to do their job.

    Cons

Long work days (7-6pm) most days. Under staffing happens frequently and the goals for promotion aren't explained very well. Every branch does things differently. Some customers love to complain and yell although it's not our fault corporate lets people reserve cars even when none are in stock.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees better (we deal with crazy things/customers to making you money) Provide clear guidelines in order to move up in the company. Lastly, explain the tuition reimbursement program better before hiring post graduates.

I have been working at Hertz full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Consistent hours, 45 is a regular work week with some room for overtime. Once you learn the position its pretty straight forward. If you like helping people and customer interaction you will do well. Must be self sufficient

    Cons

The customers, and volume of the store can be overwhelming. Time management is key in this industry. Pay is too low for the tasks we have to take on which can be mentally draining.

    Advice to Management

Hire people that are commited to learning the in's and out's of the company. Supply enough cars for projected HLE replacement rentals in addition to our retail reservations. We run out of cars by 9am on monday and customers are left angrily waiting for returns.
