I worked at Hertz full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    It's a job and a pay check.

    Cons

Extremely toxic work environment. Hard work is not appreciated. If you work in the same position 5 years or more, you're taken for granted.

    Advice to Management

If you need advice from this board, you shouldn't be in management in the first place. You should already know how to run a company and motivate your employees.

I have been working at Hertz full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

As a BM, free car, free gas, free insurance...the people you meet are what makes the job bearable. Good career advancement opportunity if you're willing to relocate...

    Cons

Everything else. Upper management does not support the field and consistently sets goals that are unreasonable and not achievable. Consistently understaffed, and upper management's response is "figure it out". Underpaid and under appreciated. Bonus is inconsistent at best, and it's next to impossible to get a raise. You work crazy long hours to be told that you're not doing enough, makes the culture awful and makes the employees not motivated to do much. Literally no work life balance, management loves to guilt trip you if you call in sick or cannot be at work. You are expected to be at work from open to close on a daily basis.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your front line employees- we are the driving force on whether you're profitable or not, and happy employees will work harder for you.
