Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI worked at Hertz full-time for more than a year
Pros
Started at Hertz right after college, a decent entry level job right out of college. worked for two years out of the Orlando area. The silver lining is the people, if you have a good manager then you will have support and training but having a good manager is not common. You do get promoted pretty quickly but for what it's worth it does not match the greater level of responsibility.
Cons
Base pay is terrible, you start at 12ish hr plus overtime (make up like 30% of your check) and bonus (minimal) Basically you are underpaid and overworked, how overworked depends if you are at a hotel or HLE. A hotel is the worse, alone at the counter in charge of doing everything on your own (cleaning cars, fueling, picking up customers) on top of your main responsibility which is renting vehicles. Your schedule... is terrible, most likely you will be working long hours and weekends. Management is detached and hypocritical, but they have to be, managers have their hands tied with the limited resources and support they are given.

Take better care of your employees and your branch managers.

"Poor Company Culture"
StarStarStarStarStarI worked at Hertz full-time
Pros
Good opportunity to learn about the automobile industry as a whole.
Cons
Long hours. Poor and outdated software and hardware that breaks down constantly. At the mercy of customers who know how to play the customer service game and complain until they get a freebie. Culture at many local edition offices is to get ahead by shady practices with customers and screwing over other branches.
Advice to Management
Look at what enterprise is doing software and hardware wise. Create an actually successful system to reward and incentivize good employees and not bad ones.

Pros
Huge network of coworkers across the country. Wide knowledge base. Great potential for growth and learning.
Cons
Long hours, always short staffed, expected to do all odd jobs to run a location and still responsible for upper level projects at the same time.

Pros
Maybe...the car. You get to drive new cars. Sure. But they have to have over 10k miles on them....when you have cars.
Cons
Long hours. Stress to $ ratio is completely out of whack. If you could quantify all the stressors, and compare to the pay, you’d look at 100:1. That’s 100 units of stress to $1 of pay. As a manager you are responsible for EVERYTHING whether you are there or not. Very little cars Time off is a premium The company likes to play “Gotcha” with their policies Very little competent help They sell intangible... products with very little training on how to do it. No specific training for specific situations like a football team would Anyone above branch level comes across as shady and untrustworthy.
