I have been working at Hewlett-Packard part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Best job ever for someone who is looking to work 17 to 20 hours a week. They are super flexible with schedules and you work mostly weekends, worked perfectly for me since I am a college student.

    Cons

Not a lot of hours. However, they are very clear it is a weekend job and they will not give you more than 20 hours per week. I do not have anything to complain about them so far.

    Advice to Management

Better training when you are first hired. This is a job where you make your own schedule, learn on your own, and its up to you to be on time and what not.

    I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

There are some very talented employees and first line managers who want to do the right thing. Generally first and second level managers are decent and do want to care for their employees. Senior management is out of touch with account delivery.

    Cons

Workforce Reductions are decimating delivery capabilities resulting in single threaded processes/support from remaining US resource(s). Best shore delivery leadership (technical or managerial) is grossly inadequate which does not bode well for new accounts which Executives demand a 90% best shore mix.

    Advice to Management

You're refreshing your employee talent pool, why don't you do the same for senior executives?

    Pros

Good salary, good benefits, good people, happy environment to work for,

    Cons

een a great place to work. With any growing company, there have been moments of stress. But through strong leadership and a clear mission (I help people get jobs), Indeed has been an amazing place to work. The challenges are daily and varied and leave me satisfied. I have grown a lot working here and see a lot of potential for more in the future.

    Advice to Management

Identify your department's goals, and determine the resources needed to achieve them.
Get to know each individual's needs, and find out what drives them.
Observe each direct report's behavior to determine if there is sufficient knowledge, skill and motivation for the individual to complete the task.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to meet the department's objectives.
Set clear expectations, understood by both you and your staff.
Coach the individual for improved performance and his own professional development.
        Prepare for the unexpected.
