I have been working at Hewlett-Packard as a contractor (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Company split - assigned to the new company.

    Cons

The new company (DXC) has a location that is way south of Austin. Lots of traffic to the airport.

    Advice to Management

Management is doing the best they can given the circumstances - there are many unknowns at this time.

    I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The culture provided a great work-life balance. The company focuses on the skills of their employees to make the company great.

    Cons

The downside from my experience is minimal. The building I operated from did not offer much room to stand away from the building during a fire drill. The distance between the building and the wooded-area was 20-25 feet. I put in recommendations that when we gathered outside, we continue walking to the parking lot which offered a larger area and that individuals where more than 2-25 feet away from the building.

    Advice to Management

If you perform as though you offer white-glove service; employees would most likely mirror what they see as a reflection of what they should be.

    I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Back in the day when good people who truly cares about others were in charge

    Cons

Always outsourcing and sending jobs off shore. It was an American company. Not anymore.

    Advice to Management

You are losing talent, lots of it. It cost more money to train off shore and they don't have the passion to put out a good product.

    Cons

Company is often rebranding, divisions changing roles which leads to layoffs.

    I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good salary and used to be THE company to work for. Bill and Dave took care of their people. Unfortunately those days are gone

    Cons

Leadership sank a once mighty ship and took the money and ran leaving the employees to to clean up the mess and fend for themselves.

    Advice to Management

The idiots that sank the ship are woking on destroying the next company so nothing to say to them

    Pros

The people are nice. The coworkers

    Cons

You never get a raise. Managers lay people off then you inherit the work. You aren't told to work long hours and weekends but have to to keep up with the work load.

    Advice to Management

Give raises and don't allow a 40 plus work week. It easily turns into 60 and seems endless
