    I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Large and matured company but highly conservative

    Cons

Highly frustrating since very difficult to make any process improvements

    Advice to Management

Have advised multiple times but almost impossible to implement any changes.
Advice would be to use historic data as a base to understand problems and then proper processes/tools to improve them

I worked at Hewlett-Packard as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

There are many systems and projects to work with. Applications and other software.

    Cons

There are very big problems due to lack of organization. Constantly changing priorities, projects, resources and much more. To address that and poor earnings projects cancelled, people let go and others brought in. This was what happened the two times there.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to get their act together. When earnings are poor don't do the short term resolutions. If something needs to be done with the staff start with those who make decisions and constantly change them.
