    I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits are good. Large size of the company allows them to get decent rates.

    Cons

Your level of satisfaction as an employee will of course vary widely under each finance management chain. My observations of the experience were a definite "we love to move employees around the company for different experiences" however there is an almost incestuous "who you know gets the job" approach. Forget their career development mantra.... It's much easier to find a new job making +$15k/yr more

    Advice to Management

Have a consistent promotion and salary increase plan.

    Pros

They had a good benefits package, allowed to work remote when necessary and worked with a great technical team.

    Cons

It would be nice to have the temperature comfortable within the building.

    Advice to Management

I would like to receive more communication from the management team.

I worked at Hewlett-Packard (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Many opportunities for Sales or Sales management, fair pay for performance, excellent products

    Cons

Former CEO's sapped the company of talent, management is untrained and not loyal to employees, executives relying on lower level managers who don't have the proper experience

    Advice to Management

Try to focus on 1) what customers need 2) treat your employees like they are important (they are), 3) get realistic about what you can sell every year 4) quit over hiring then layoff cycles 5) Invest in HP labs

    I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Confusion around management team and transition to split the company make the environment not stable to work force. I did not feel valued by the company.

    Cons

At the beginning the company value its employee by providing them with growth and appreciation for their loyalty. offered very good work life balance.

    Advice to Management

Go back to the core, take care of your employee especially the old one, they can still contribute and pass alone their experiences to the young fleet coming in.

    I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefits (Medical/dental/401K/Life Insurance, etc..), employee discounts within and outside of the company, no official sick days (take days, but don't abuse them), decent vacation time for newbies (generally 3 wks), and great online learning opportunities. My experience with management has always been good, but that depends on who you're working for and what contract you're assigned to. Low wages.

    Cons

Depending on your contract you'll get laid off in a heartbeat. You better network like crazy or you'll never move into another position easily. Lots of relatives, of relatives work here. No human contact with HR, or basically like it doesn't exist. It's like you're at a virtual company. There's always a reason not to receive a considerable raise or a raise since times are always tough, even while you get a beautiful review from your manager.
